C55 Stock RIM replacement

Months ago, one of the rear 18" rims had been scratched badly. I had it painted by a local shop cheaply. No, the paint is coming off and makes that rear rim look 8 years older than my car.

I am deciding to replace just one rear rim , and will buy it from Benz dealer to make sure it is identical to the other rear one.

The question is, would the rear wheels becoming 'unbalanced' if one of them is newer?

I know it may sound stupid , just want to make sure before I order it.

Any one replaced one RIM ? , and how much was that costed?

I wouldn't sweat the 'unbalance' issue, it's the same

You should instead get a set of Flik Artic's or something, relatively cheap and you don't have to worry about getting them scratched.

The only occasion that C55 rims will be scratched is when I am out of the exit parking lot where the pathway is 'S' shape and the sides of the pathway are very rough. I know I should complain to the building mgmt.
It always rubs the left rear rim.
I did swap the rear rims so that the nice one is on the left facing the pedestrains ; and fck it, the rear left was scratched again.
Actually I should have replaced both rear rims but look at the cost of two rims, I am thinking why pay the money for the same rims and not going for 19" for a change?

there will b no issues w/ the new rim.
why do u want to get it from the dealer?
u can prabobly find some used "new" wheels for a lot cheaper and insted replace both.

That rings the bell. I will ask around.
The thing is , C55 is the first Benz receives this AMG style rims. I saw many W210, W211 , W203 were also getting these AMG rims in those AMG sports packages. But I ain't sure which non AMG are/can use rear 18" 245 9.5 as they are mostly 17" I guess....So I have little hope actually.

When I looked into buying a replacement, the dealer quoted me just under $1k, so I settled with getting it refinished and that turned out very well for me. If you say that you scrape the rear left wheel all the time coming out of the parking lot, why would you replace it only to have it happen again? The LAST thing I'd do it buy a nice new set of 19's knowing that they would inevitably get scraped coming out the lot.

okay. that's good. I will check the pro shop selling a lot of AMG Rims, stuff ..
We have too little number of SLK/CLK AMG, more E55, C55 is most rare; but many non-AMG Benz gets the AMG sports packages; so basically their cars are a 'AMG' except the engine and the seatings

The SLK55 rims are not the same and the SLK32 rims are only 17".

Right. last time, the dealer quote HK$3400=~US$420 for one rear AMG wheel, I hope to get it cheaper somewhere.
Okay, in fact , I have been observing I am building up a sense of an alert whenever I pass through the entrance; so I guess it only happens in the same place again if I were really driving in bad mood that day
I will probably replace both rears ( even one of them is not as bad ); so I will keep one in my store room until one day, touch wood, a rear is scratched again and if worse than the one in the store room, I will have a 'spare'.

Yes, 19" is very tempting; I would probably prepare a big spend including to replace the C55 grill to the 2006 CLK 3-slates star grill :p !

SLK55 AMG here uses the same looking AMG rims as the C55 , unless you refer to the specification difference?
