throttle booster, highly recommand!
The first pic is how it looks out of the box. The second (set of pics, actually) show the install as if the module did not have it's harness connected. That's just for clarity, I assume. Written another way, pic #2 shows how to install what is in pic #1.
The first pic is what an MB one looks like.

- Sprint Booster was fairly well documented in a few Asian car magazine 4-5 months ago.
- Sprint Booster will NOT increase your engine output. If you go back to the basic consideration, you'll realize what the engine needs in order to increase your power output. Don't be fooled by this Sprint Booster.
- Sprint Booster is a device that intercept your "electronic" throttle signals when you accelerate. Example: If you are accelerating from 0 km/h, Sprint Booster will intercept your throttle input and fool the ECU that you're gunning it with full throttle. Hence, the WOT mode is there. In results, your car "feels" faster. However, I do NOT believe that you can NOT achieve the same results with a heavy right foot on the pedal.
- You will not feel the difference if you're in full throttle mode on the highway when you're rolling because the Sprint Booster is simply a device that fools your throttle to be wide open or open the throttle at a higher rate.
- So, why so many people feel that Sprint Booster works for them? Answer: You won't WOT (Wide open throttle) at every green lights right? Sprint Booster is more like a device that fools your engine to Wide Open Throttle whenever you press on the gas pedal.
- Why didn't Mercedes put this "monster" device into their products? Answer: Because our "electronic" throttle pedals went throught hundreds and thousands of calculations with different sensors input in order to calculation the right amount of air and fuel in the engine. MB has their own " safety net" to protect the engine from blowing up. Do you guys know that?
In conclusion:
1) Sprint Booster will NOT increase your engine power output.
2) Sprint Booster will NOT increase your engine torque output.
3) Sprint Booster will causes decreased gas mileage.
4) Sprint Booster will void your factory warranty.
5) You can achieve the same results with a heavy right foot on the gas pedal at every intersection signal lights.
6) Sprint Booster is going around for USD $300 installed (including Labor) in Taiwan.
*I'm too tired tonight, I'll come back to chip in more when it's needed. So, just treat my thread as a headsup. Seriously, no offend to the product manufacturer.
I know guys who blew their engine because of a too much aggressive ECU upgrade, they brought the ECU back to the original programming and later on their car to official assistence and the warranty covered all costs........
And, maybe it's just me, but I would like to see the face of those dumb engineers who studied the original programming of the throttle response for all the automatic MB........I bet whatever you wish that my CAT (you read well) could do a better job than them

Has anyone here got theirs from slkfans ? Will it be better off to get it from the crossfire group buy or slkfans ?

I'm getting my sprintbooster from the group purchase that MMZ_TimeLord organized over on the crossfire forum. Slkfans is doing a group purchase also. Looks like both of them are trustworthy and they keep everyone up to date regarding the purchase.

this thing wasn't hard to install, just hard to find the little cap that you have to remove, it's nearly hidden behind the gas pedal. once you pull that plastic cap out there is a 10mm bolt, you will need a ratchet to get at it. unbolt that, the entire gas pedal comes loose, behind that you will find a wire attaching the gas pedal to the car, unplug that, plug sprint booster in, bolt it back up, you're done.
definatly worth every dollar. i love my sprint booster.
***correction*** I just found the invite in my in-box.

this is what it looks like:

imgp 1182 and imgp 1183 showed the gas paddle intact. you need to pop the round plug and remove the 10mm nut. you need to get the washer out with a magnet or a small tweezer. then just lift the whole assembly up and out.

imgp 1185 showed the gas paddle assembly out. note that the sprint booster is already installed.

imgp 1188 shows where you need to unplug and where sprint booster plugs into.

imgp 1193 shows the sprint booster installed. after this, just stuff every thing back and enjoy.

got my from slkfan. great service.

I'm thinking about installing a sprintbooster in my SLK32.
The functionalityof the SB sounds good to me to avoid throttle-lag and make a faster downshift without kickdown...
What happens in the second half of the throttle with the Sprintbooster installed? Is there still coming more power or is everything happening in the first half of the throttle? Do you still activate the kickdown switch for maximum acceleration? An AMG-technician told me that the last ignition angles are only activated when you use the kickdown switch...
Thanks.
Kind Regards from Germany
