gauges doesn't help with power... it will help you monitor how much boost you are pushing, and see if you are loosing boost or not.

I'm doing this as well, per something along these lines:

http://www.slk32.com/pages/boostgauge1/boostgauge1.html

But I'm hunting around for a guage that matches my instrument cluster. Which defi did you go with 1fast?

Thanks,

Bif.

Bif,

i have this Defi Boost gauge in white, because i pulled it out of my other car before selling it...

http://evasivemotorsports.com/mercha...P-DEFI-LINK-BF

i also have the control box that goes along with that inorder for the guage to work...

i am actually going to mount it in the same place as the link you posted, but it will sit directly on the dashboard instead of being attached to the A-pillar...i have a generic mounting cup that i will use some double sided tape to attach it with...

i will post up some pics when i am done...

just out of curiousity, why can't we just tap into the map sensor? anyone know where the map sensor is located on the engine? should be a great place to get a boost source for the gauge...

Or a vaccuum line coming off the two valves to the front of the air filters? There are what look like vaccuum lines coming off those.

i will take a look this weekend....the main thing on this car is that you have to have a source for the gauge after the supercharger, which is why the link you posted is tapping into the "Y"....i was thinking map sensor because it usually has a vaccuum line or can be tapped...

Well, if you consider that knowledge is power...then in a way it will help your power by providing you with the information pertinant to what is going on under the hood of your car.

Unfortunately, it will not help your car's horsepower

Does anyone have an idea how and or where to get through the firewall on the C32? I have the Autometer gauge and am in the process of trying to get it installed but my issue is getting the tube through the firewall.

Waking this thread back up because I'm about to do this and never saw an answer to alumar's question about where to feed through the firewall, also is there anyplace else to get this reading, per the MAP suggestion by 1fast.

Thanks, and sorry to ressurect a thread, but seems like the most pertinent one.

edit: also is there no other way to get a boost reading on the c32 other than drilling into the y-pipe after the s/c? Is there some electronic way to get at the boost number? The ECU must be getting this information from the MAP, so can we get this info from the ECU?...

I don't know if this will help, but there is a feed thru the passenger side fire wall below the battery. This is where my amp wire goes thru for me. There are cap blocking the holes but they pop out. I found this on another thread for regarding amp installation..
