Will 2005 C230 SS wheels fit on a 2003 C32?

I am buying a 2003 C32 to replace my 2005 C230 SS and I actually like the C230 wheels better than the AMG wheels, so I want to take the wheels off my C230 and put them on the C32. The tires are the same sizes on both cars, so I am assuming I can easily swap them. Does anybody know for sure if the 2005 C230 SS wheels will fit the C32? Thanks!

The AMG wheels will go onto the C230, so I will not have a set of wheels to sell. Hopefully the calipers are the same size on both cars and everything will go smoothly. I am picking up the C32 tomorrow. It is an 03 with 26K miles and is Starmarked, so has two years of warranty left.

C32 / C55 is already very much a sleeper. Only a handful of people really know what "AMG" means, and I'm sure plenty of folks assume that the "0" fell off my "C320" badge.

Benz helped to make the C32 a sleeper by tarting up the C230 Sport package to look pretty much the same as a C32. GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr.

Probably 80% of the population has absolutely no clue what the letters and numbers stand for. And I'm sure they think somebody misspelled "Compressor" with a "K".

I guess it's a German car thing. People always asked me how I liked the A4 or if my 1.8 Liter engine had the turbo. My typical answer was, "they're OK cars", and "I don't really know, I don't look under there" (my car was a b6 s4 with a 4.2 liter V8)

The same people often had a surprised look on their face when I drove off and they heard the non-resonated Milltek exhaust via 5-valve/cylinder technology and gobs of displacement.

I had problems putting on my Carlsson 2/5 on my C32. They fit my 2003 C230 Sedan perfectly, however when placing the same rims on my C32 I found that the front wheels would not go on as the hub of the C32 since it is different than the hub of the C230 Sedan. The wheels cleared the brake caliper however the wheel lugs used on my c32 have the same length lugs but contain a longer thread than My C203 Lugs.

On the C32 the back lug nuts are different ,they are much shorter than the c230. I dunno if other C32 owners have noticed the same thing?

back lug depends on the wheels.

for the Carlsson wheels for the correct fitment you should have et28 for the front wheel which require spacers from Carlsson. Most people does not know this, so they don't buy the adapter kit from Carlsson which includes the right spacers and right bolts.

without the spacers usually they would still fit for some cars, but it would not be the correct offset and for the hub the center bore will not fit correctly.

You went from a B6 S4 to a C32?

I went from an A6 2.7T to a C32. I'd love to hear your comparison between the two brands. To me, Audi makes good cars that function extremely well when everything is working. But Audi engineering does not seem as "holistic" as Benz engineering, and with the twin turbo 2.7T I lived every day hoping that I didn't blow up a hose, valve, relay, solenoid, turbine, pump or switch because the damn engine was full of them, and they were all plastic, and situated all over the engine compartment.

I find the C32 engine (which also boosted) to be a much more integrated engineering effort -- kind of like Honda.

The transmission on the C32 is also much more effective than the A6 tiptronic (which was a ZF model). The software on the C32 does an incredible job of adapting to the driving situation.

BUT, you cannot improve on Audi interiors. I really miss the rich materials and perfect layout of the Audi.

PS: At an Audi Club driving event at VIR, my C32 seemed to have a lot more straightaway speed than B6 S4s. I did not expect that to be the case.

IMO Audi makes surprisingly durable engines. My uncle had a 91 Audi 80. That thing drove so well when I went back to Taiwan 4 years ago. Now one of my cousin's driving it.

I think today's Audi has by far the best interior in terms of material used out of the 3 German brand.

The C32 will be faster than the B6 S4 in straight line because it's lighter.

Appreciate the advice Frank but if these rims fits a c230 sedan perfectly, why won't they fit my C32? I never needed any spacers on my C230.

Unfortunately I was working for an airline at the time and they decided that I was making way too much money.

My personal opinion is that the B6 S4 was an all-around better car than the C32. Benz really has taken the Chrysler influence too far in their brand.

Audi build quality and ergonomics is untouchable. The lowest quality plastic in the Audi was still superior to the highest quality plastic in my C32.

In terms of handling, again the Audi was superior. But an AWD to RWD comparison is not fair. The Audi had more torque in every gear, but again it's not fair to compare a 4.2 liter v8 to a 3.2 liter v6. As far as transmissions, I miss my 6 speed manual and I'm having LOTS of problems with the C32 tranny.

Straight-line acceleration goes to the C32, as the Audi was a fat pig weighing over 4000lbs. But the handling was still superior. Audi brakes were 14.4" rotors in the front, and like 12" in the back, making stops a breeze.

The C32 is a looker; the Audi was all about being subtle. I haven't made any mods to my C, but with the Audi I did the chip, intake, and exhaust, bumping output close to 380HP.

I like my Benz, but I'll probably end up getting another Audi someday.

The key to owning any German car is having a warranty. Never leave your driveway without it.

I think he was responding to moosejaw's post about Carlsson's, not about the C230 rimms
