Owner's experiences with 19" Nitto NT555's vs. 19" Michelin PS2's

Hey guys,
About to pull the trigger on some TSW Bremma's for my C55 - now my decision is which tire to go with (NT555s vs. PS2s). My thoughts are that the PS2's will handle and ride a bit better and also be quieter(also hopefully have a better tread life.) My concern is, am I underestimating the Nitto's? Will I be pleasantly surprised, considering the Nitto's are a couple of hundred of dollars cheaper?
Thanks for the advice fellas!

I don't have any experience with the Michelins, but I've got the Nittos and am very pleased. They have yet to even squeal the tiniest bit going around a corner hard. Grip is excellent and I had no problems in our extremely wet No. Ca. winter this year.

For the money I saved, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

Sounds like the Nitto's will be hard to pass up for the savings in price - any comments on their ride or noise level? Thanks for the great input!

Nitto's Noisey?

I was all set on the Nitto's - but I don't want a very noisey tire... Maybe I'll go to plan B - which is to purchase the rims and tires separately. A lot of people have been raving about the Toyo T1's - what do you guys think, is that the way to go? Thanks!

Agreed! i have the T1S's and they are noisey, especially at low speeds...i am looking forward to upgrading to the T1R's when these wear out, as the toyo's do perform amazingly other than the noise...

well im pretty familiar with the 350z forum and i myself have nitto NT555's on my car at the moment. from what i know, the Nitto's tire life is really long and decent for an everyday drive and maybe once in a while a bit of performance driving. the T1R's i would actually recommend instead of the nitto's if you are more for performance and hard turns. so this basically comes down to what type of driving you would do. I would've got the T1R's myself if i didnt get these Nittos for free since I'm more of a performance kinda guy. cant complain about free stuff though and for the noise condition on the nitto's, I've heard that after about like 10K-15K miles, its starts getting louder. my nittos are still decently new so no noise at all really. dont know about later. hope this helps you out a bit.

I've used them for about 12K and the noise is just unbearable in highway. When it's time to replace them, I'll get something else for sure.

are you set on only these 2 brands of tire? if not, i would recommend the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. i have them on my C55 and am really happy w/ them. also, they will run you 2-3 hundred dollars cheaper than PS2. i believe few months ago in Car & Driver ? it took 1st place out of all performance tires tested.

The tire noise is usually drowned out by the sirens of the pursuing vehicles

Guys, you have been a HUGE help! I took a look at the Goodyear's also - I actually do recall Car and Driver's test a few issues back. But thanks to the forum and all of your advice, it looks like balancing performance, noise, ride and cost, I'm headed with the T1R's! Thanks again guys, looking forward to meeting some of you at some meets in the near future!
