drove a C55 today!

Went to the dealer with my dad was looking to drive a C32, but all they had was a C55 and it is similar. All I can say is wow. The inteior was so nice everything was placed where it should be not all cluttered up like BMW's with all there crazy stuff and the engine was amazing. Too bad a C55 wasnt in the price range for us, but a C32 will do. Will the intriors be close to the same between the two?

The interior of the C55 is quite different compared to the C32, in my opinion. The aluminum trim is different and has more texture. The instrument cluster, steering wheel, the various buttons on the dash, the radio/COMMAND screen and climate control knobs are all different.

And no, the C32 does not have the alcantara leather on the sides of the seats.

Fast Cars!
Not only the alcantra, but the front seats are much more supportive on the C55.

C55 interior is what a C Class should look like imho, but the power gives it justice so it passes

Hey.... just realize that the C55 PC Valkyrie posted has parktronics, side mirror folding AND digital climate control (man, I certainly hate when I have to guess the temp from a little tiny dial).

Do you know where to get this climate control? From Steve?

Yes, the pic I posted is a Euro spec C55. In Canada, I couldn't get parktronic or folding mirrors as an option. I could have ordered the electronic climate control as an option when I bought my C55 last year, but didn't because I felt it wasn't necessary.

So your climate control is just like in the picture?

I haven't checked w/ the dealer or eBay here... but do you know how much it is over there? Also, is temp reading only in centigrade or changeable to fahrenheit?

Thanks bunch.

EDIT: Duh... should've read it more carefully... so you didn't order it... do you know how much if you did order it?

The C55 interior was one of several reasons why I chose the C55 over the M3. The alcantara and white stitching on the nappa leather makes it look really classy.

You guys should check out www.mercedes-amg.com for the new 360 view of the C55 interior. It looks like the C55 will soon come with paddle shifters and flush door pins instead of the "golf tee" door pins.

Will paddle shifters be available for the 2007 U.S. version of the C55? Or is this only for the Euro version?

you can always redo the interior by professionals if you really want alcantara for seats or steering wheel.

my steering wheel is re-wrapped in brabus black leather and alcantara.
