Thinking about selling my C55

I've been thinking about selling my C55. granite grey and fully loaded (7k miles). It's perfect. I have almost every option on it. Think I might get the best deal now...buy a truck and wait for next year's C AMG model. Any thoughts on price and if this makes sense. Or is this plain stupid. Love the car! Just a thought.

Yeah I did, just to get me by for the next year. I know this sounds crazy. Thinking out loud I guess. I know I'll take a hit on it now. Just thinking in a year it will be even worse.

your're taking the biggest hit right now...a year later it won't be that big of a difference. Our C32s have taken the biggest hit after 2 year and then each year after that wasn't that big of a difference.

selling your car now it's going to be the same as selling your car a year from now with just a little bit more mileage.

I probably could not survive for more than 6 mths without driving a V8 powered Mercedes. I would only sell my C55 3 mths before I receive my C63.

I had a C55 w/ a stage 7 Kleemann package putting down 530hp/540tq. A 430hp C55 is not going to feel as fast as you think it will.

If you want a fast 4-door sedan, do as I did and get an E55 (or E63).

Are you saying that the stock E55 feels faster than your previous C55 K7? !!

No but my E55 K2 (pulley, header, ecu) feels much faster and is much faster than my C55K S7. Pulling 11.60's @ 122 in my K2 (pump gas) vs. 12.20's @ 116 in C55K

Stock E55's run 12.30's @ 115 in Vegas so I would have to say that the C55K S7 is only slightly faster than a healthy stock E55.

My 11.997 @ 117 in my C55K S7 was on MT drag radials w/ 100 octane.

Holy crap. I knew that the Kleeman E55s were fast, but I didn't think that they were that fast.

Just out of curiousity, how much does it roughly cost to modify an E55 to that level?

roughly 8-9k

That are a couple E55 K2's running 11.40's

Might be a long wait. AMG and MBZ have anounced that the C55 is aready discontined for 2007. With the W204 coming in 08 or possibly 09, the C63 will probably come a year later than that.

I say, keep it for a few years longer. The worst is over now. The bleeding should be slower going forward.

The 2007 facelift E-class, E63(514hp) comes in with E500(388hp). this makes me believe C63 will come in soon as the W204 is on sale. I should be able to pick up my new C63 ~April or May 2008. Only a Motorsport 3-series E90 V8 would take 1.5 years to launch since E90 was on sale back April 2005.

Well, its going to be a new body and a new engine so it could actually significantly faster. Personally I think in the aftermarket tuning department the W204 C63 is going to have a lot more potential then the W211 E63. Now the question in my mind is how will the new 63 engine stack up to the 55 supercharged engine in tuning potential and max power you can crank out of it.

Have you had the E55 dyno'd? If they are both putting out the same power do you have any idea as to why that is? Does you E55 hook up better?
