So who drives they're C32/C55 in the Winter (AKA Snow)?
I am considering buying a late 90's A4 AWD, but I am leaning towards just a set of snow tires. What do you guy's/girl's think? Any experiences are welcome.

You shouldn't have any problems with snow tires. There was a weekend where it snowed a ton and I had no problems. Didn't get stuck even when it snowed a foot in one day (I actually saw a slk 55 on the road that day too)

Guess I'll be driving my C70 then which can go through deep snow ice traverse lunar landscapes and has climbed the highest 7 peaks in the world
and that's with summer tires!
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
i bought Dunlop Winter Sport M3s and mounted them on the stock 17" C32 wheels as my winter set. (got 18" brabus on toyos for the summer) and i must say it does its job well in snow and freezing rain. the only thing i dislike about them is the cornering/steering. it obvioulsy doesnt compare to summer tires like PS2s or T1Rs. On the days when there isnt any snow and i want to drive fast, it kinda keeps me from "fully" enjoying what the AMG was made to do.
not to bash the tires b/c they are exceptional in 2" of snow but unless you have snow every other day (in NY its really only a few days out of the whole 4-5 months of "snow" season) i think good "all seasons" should work just as well but i cant say for sure b/c i have yet to experience it - hope this helps some of you out - Adam
Even with no snow on the ground, the summer tires don't have any grip at low temperatures because the rubber becomes too hard.
I would recommend winter tires or the cae is not drivable in the winter!
. Its Garaged for the winter. But these cars are so fun to drive. Winter tires are a must. My cousin has a C230 and left his summer tires for the winter and wrecked them because of the cold temp. He tolled me it was stated in the MB manual about a freezing threshold temp. Hence that is why there are winter tires.Valkyrie that is a nice colour on your C55. Hey you are from TO do u have a trusted mechanic in TO or just the regular MB dealership??
The only problem I've seen is that the summer tires get hard and slippery when it's really cold out.
Just for kicks, last night (22 degrees), while sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the DC Beltway, I did a moderately smokey burnout (brake/throttle). I wonder what the poor slob behind me was thinking! Summer tires are VERY brick-like when it gets cold.

I tried driving in eight inches of snow and it wasn't pretty
