Mod advice?
)Anyways, I want to do some personalization to the C55. Just some minor tweaking...here's what I had in mind:
-Some more chrome (mirror housing or door handles)
-Clear/smoked side markers(?...the little lights on the side?)
-Tint the windows (friend said 15% but that's way too dark IMO)
-V8 badge for the side
-Change the shift knob to something else...I'm thinking just the standard one with the benz star, or if I can get a hold of something that resembles the SLK black series AMG one...*drool*
All pretty simple stuff. Would appreciate any advice, comments, or where to get the stuff done (for the best price!).
Also two things I'm not sure of doing would be removing the resonator and adding a roof spoiler. Does removing the resonator have any adverse effects? Also I'm worried the antenna would look weird jutting out of the spoiler, but other than that I think it looks really good.
(yes...I'm quite new the the whole personalizing the car thing. My ML had...a fuzzy steering wheel cover and a "Pilot Sport Extreme Exhaust" tip lol! good times.)
So yeah...any help would be appreciated.
For some reason i like the V8 Kompressor badge instead of just V8.
Regarding shift knob, I'm very close to organizing a group buy. I just need to get a confirmation from someone from AMG who unfortunately is on vacation at this moment. Check out this thread : https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/156125-finally-something-our-boring-shifter.html
smoked sidemarkers on a black car are good.
How about CF interior trims ?
I wouldn't do a V8 Kompressor since you don't have a kompressor! Just the V8 part is cool..
I have all my bumper lights, mirror blinkers and rear tail lights all smoked.. It looks great IMO.. I would go with smoked/tinted over clear, but clear is better than orange for sure!
My windows are 20% tint. A little lighter than 15%.. I like it.. may still be a little dark for some.. Make sure you get non-metallic tint or it will screw with your nav and radio reception. Also make sure you get moleskin inserts in your windows so you don't scratch your tint.
Shift knob upgrade is a must to me.. The stock one is aweful on both the C32 and the C55..
IMO the classifieds on this forum and Ebay are the places I visit most for my stuff.. I have also ordered stuff from a couple of forum sponsors..
Good luck!

360 iti-for the group buy, it would be option "b" right? It looks like the shifter from a SL, does it fit the C class? Also...where would one find CF interior trim? That sounds sexy.
amgmark-did you buy pre-smoked lights and replace your stock ones? Where did you get all that? I can't find anything on ebay. Also thanks for the advice on the window tint!
One more thing I wanted to do was get the CLK style grill. Grills made for the regular C-class will not fit the C55 right? So can I just get CLk grill and pop in there? (don't worry...I'll will of course get the mandatory flat badge!)

CLK grille is correct. Regular c-class grill won't fit.

I got my blinkers already tinted from a member on Benzworld.. You can get your blinkers tinted by most body shops.. or buy a can of tint spray on ebay/autoparts store.

Actually the silver and titanium are made of texalium since real cf only comes in black. But they look exactly like the real cf and you won't be able to tell the difference. Hold on lemme take some quick pics.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

PS: i found my tripod and took a few pics without flash. Sorry, still crappy but you get the idea. I'll try to take some close up pics tomorrow.

Were you going to post any more pics? Is the previous post correct? $600 for everyting? Please more details, Where? Who? How? etc.
And yes, my previous post was correct, but read my post #6 as well.
FTW sorry I don't mean to hijack your thread
but I guess it's still on the topic.

Got a quote for lit door sills at aprox $300. But they say "Mercedes Benz" and not <AMG> which is what I want. Dealership says they don't have that. And for the half chrome door handles...well it is going to be 600 PER door. I might leave that for another time.
Half chrome door handle left front - Alabaster white:
211-760-0770-9960 $71.18
Half chrome door key piece left front:
203 -760-0118-9960 $29.70
The rear handles are slightly cheaper:
211-760-0970-9960 $51.68 (handle)
203-760-1720-9960 $29.70 (end piece)
Less than $400 for all 4 doors before tax. So I was wrong when I said it was $200-$250 per door, but certainly not $600 per door.
"AMG" illuminated door sills are $150 at formymercedes.com but I would say the fitment is C or B-. Looks awesome from a distance and at night.
I ordered the set back in Feb this year and fell in love with my car all over again. It's just a matter of overlaying cf on stock trims so I believe they're able to work on any MB class. Now I'm thinking of asking them to do my engine cover and airboxes too if the price is right. We'll see.
Definitely unique, but also looks Original in a Deisgno kind of style...
