There are many cars I would trade mine for, but a 1000awhp station wagon wouldn't be one of them.

Also, is there a twin screw blower (like Whipple or even the C32 source), that is one step higher in positive displacement? Pushing up the displacement on the blower should be more effective, that playing with the pullies.

Of course the stock intercooler is a bit of a restriction. One might need to port the blower also.

Don
This is also a great question and completely logical. If there is not such a blower we should get a poll together of as many people as possible and send it to Whipple or Kenne Bell and see if that's enough for then to make one. I spoke with them and they said it'd cost my $50K for a one off, but if we get enough people interested they would make one and it'd be priced like most of their other blowers and I might add they have great pricing.

Well I beleive that they would charge between $3-4K for a new and better blower, and most of their twin screws can run up to 30psi. So I think it'd be safe to say you'd gain at least 100hp. Just based on the gains you see on their other produsts. And that 100 is on top of the 400-450 that you'd have with the stock blower modded.

Basically I think it's a way to get well over 500hp without going bi-turbo and spending who knows how much.

And once you get that, you'll love another 40hp, and so on. I learned the hard way that you can pour a lot of money into a car and end up with a faster car, but there will always be a car that is faster still. And the money you poured in will never come back out. And you might just blow a transmission along the way!

I'm happy to make 350HP.

here in Italy I have the chance to hit 400hp mark with my C32 getting a good pulley upgrade to cope with the ECU upgrade I already had done. Point is I already feel hard kicks from the rear of the car in kickdown mode expecially after throttle reset. I am kinda worried trasmission might suffer hitting 400hp mark. Last post of mine was referring to the fact that it is quite obvious EvilEmpire got a monster upgrade with good reliability for the whole car, just want to make sure I won't get any problem to climb up in hp, though I understand I'll remain distant from his hp figures........

I think I remember reading that our tranny can withstand some serious torque. Anyone know the figures?

Yea that'd be a good thing to know since that's where the S4 tip runs into limitations but I believe that the Benz is better, I thought it already had a beefed up torque converter and valve body, well basically a beefed up trans in general, not sure how much though.

So I second this, anybody know the answer?

PS- jgsx so on Sunday what road do you think we should use, just the straight stretch of 53 passing the schaumburg exits?

yes, real figures about "bearable" torque for the NAG 5 speed auto would help. If I remember correctly AMG chose that instead of the 7 speed G-tronic to cope with 1000nm torque of CL65 AMG, at least when the car was originally released. When I talk about the kicks I feel from the back of the car in downshift mode (at the present moment I have 504nm of torque) they are similar to the ones I had in my test drive with BMW ///M3 SMGII in S5 mode (S1 is "relaxed", S6 is "launch control")........

our transmission I believe it's the same one as the C55s which stock form already has way more torque than our car and people with supercharged C55 still run on the same transmission, so I believe our transmission is fine handling all the extra power.

remember SilvaC32 already hit 370+ at the wheel with nitrous and stage 2 setup.

Topgun said that the tranny was designed to handle 700ft-lbs, but I'm not sure where he got that info. I hope it is correct

If that is the case I don't think anybody needs to worry about the tranny breaking from too much power.

I believe that is correct because so far AMG only came out with the 7-spd on few cars and the 5-spd was used throughout the model range up to the SL65/CL65/S65. I think only the SLR has a even more beefed up 5-spd.

Audi C7.5 S6
The throttle response/delay (not turbo lag) of my old 2001 chipped S4 tiptronic, was one of the reasons I got rid of it for a stock C32.

Another reasons, for the move to a C32 was to have more (stock) horsepower, with an automatic. The S4 auto is a bit weak and very few seem to know how to improve it reliably (I don't trust Level 10). The AMG automatics are pretty stout.

For a Manual transmission car, the S4 may be a better solution for higher HP.

For an Automatic car, the AMG series are a little more practical.

I still like the looks, comfort ride and handling of the old S4, but for automatic power, the C32/55 are more practical.

I would not mind having a twin turbo V8 RS6, though. The drawback, being that it is a little too big and heavy.

I agreee.
I'd stay away from Level 10.

After driving stick for so long, the AMG auto is actually pretty nice.
