sorry to say.. but the C32 is in par with the 335i. Top end, with 1 additional and almost same weight (C32 is a bit heavier) I would take the Beamer.

Both modded, I still take the Beamer. We top out a 430hp and the 3L Bi-turbo will see way more than that after a few years. It might take some internal upgrading, but it will happen.

Yes the C32 is still a player after 5 years, but its day it did cost $50k as well.

Price is not the issue.. here. The questions is: Is the 335i a threat to the C55.. YES of course.

Do you honestly believe the C55 is in the same league as an RS4? Having driven and seen both of them I certainly don't. The Audi should cost more than the C55, it is a better car. Maybe not 11K more but more.

The 13.6@105 that car and Driver got puts it on par with a C32/C55.....so there is no doubt that speedwise, they are very close, which was my assumption to begin with. I'm sorry that I didn't bust sunshine on you "AMG" camp/side.....but truth is in the numbers, that new Beemer in STOCK trim is prob as fast as your top-of-the line C-classes, which some of you will love to deny, for whatever reason. So go ahead, be ignorant, thinking your AMG is superior or what not. Who's the "DUMBASS" now, sweetie?!

it is the same speed as a M3 and a C-amg and it does cost 11k more yet it came out 5 yrs later than the car it is trying to beat.

- The RS4 is QUICKER than the c and M3. Just look at fifth gear when it easily outdragged the M 7 times in a row. Now the car has more to it than that, but just proving it isn't the same speed.


If all you care about is straightine speed, trade in your C32 for a modded Camaro. Many of us are laughing at you, even old Rolfy!

1, M3 is not a C-amg
2. many people consider C32/C55 same speed as an M3 also despite being a few tenths slower or faster depending on where you look. If the RS4 is within that spectrum then it can be considered same speed. M3 can beat a C32/C55 around a track also, as a RS4 can. only difference is the M3 is in the same price range while the RS4 is ridiculously over priced

BTw: I'm speaking on the C32's behalf. C55 trap higher 108+ and 13.2 on average. C32 13.5 and 106+

On paper or on the road, the C55 will still beat the 335i. However it will be on the slightest of margins.

There some rare tests in which the C32 was clocked at 13.2 with a trap of 107 or 108, but it is not the norm. These are strickly Mag numbers of course.

Oh no doubt.....the C32/55 is still faster than the new 335Ci.....but in now way are they in seperate leagues...unlike what some of the members have posted on this thread. I posted conservative probable times, yet was accused of speculative misinformation Yet...those probable times put it in the same ballpark of traps as a C32 AMG, BOTH in STOCK form (yet another of member stated that a C32 would "SMOKE IT") which is the farthest thing from the truth. For some reason, some people can't see beyond how quick the TT I6 can be in stock form. But whatevers. The "fundemental point" as you stated.....is that both cars are damn quick, and not one is gonna smoke the other. It's pretty damn close.....no speculations about that

EVOTech seems to already have an ECU upgrade available for the 335i. HP jumps to 375hp for a cost of $1295.


I'm not sure if those claims are true, but I wish there was an ECU upgrade like that for my C55

I'm all about the new 335i coupe! I think it looks sexy and if it handles any better than my 02' 330 coupe did, I'm just picturing what a blast and adrenaline rush the new coupe will be like. I have a year and half left on my lease and I can't wait to get my hands on the new coupe!

My every new car is more powerful than the previous ones. Yes, as my cars are getting more powerful, I can destroy more and more cars on the road which I wasn't able to. Interesting finding is, those cars I own could never beat the cars I really dream for which normally are the ones either they are not the cars I want to own or I like it but I could not afford it. We buy a more powerful car, there will be new enemies. Power is never enough.
The 'enemy is within'!
Having said that, if I were still employed in 2008, I will get a M3 E92 or a C63.

ok i see alot of people here attacking what i said yet nobody has disputed what i said.

m3/c32/c55 are all around the same speed correct? dispite c55 being a few tenths faster than the m3, we still consider them the same speed.
yet the RS4 is also only a few tenths faster than the m3, like the c55 is, and its in an entirely different league than the m3/c32/c55??
if you guys wanna magazine race then you can refer to car and driver

Coherent? That's somewhat questionable, babbling about how "overpriced" the Audi is without taking into consideration that Audi's have traditionally been on the more expensive side and that the "RS" models are VERY rare and exclusive, and come with one of the most advanced AWD systems on the planet, allowing you to drive it all year round in any weather.

Not only can it outdrag all of the cars you've mentioned in dry conditions, but it can repeat such results in the rain and the snow, that's worth at least 5 or 6k to me right there. Combine that with its relative exclusivity and you've got a deal.

On a track it beats up all of its direct competition and takes their lunch money. It has a beautiful interior and a well engineered powerplant, and is likely more reliable than its BMW and Merc competitors.

Back to the 335i, its not an M model, its just a standard Beemer. The fact that its as fast as cars that stickered for 11k more and, when "slightly" tuned it will rip their doors off speaks volumes about how serious the performance game is getting.

Honestly think next time before you go off half-c0cked about cars you know very little about. You might drive fast, but your brain seems a tad laggy.
