Man - that was uncalled for.
I don't know who 1FAST32 is (or Vadim, or Jerry, and the list goes on), but I know I've already saved at least $1,500 this year alone by heeding their mod's and DIY fixes (intercooler pump ring a bell?). I haven't purchased anything from them (yet ), but I'm pretty sure anyone who tries a mod like this is going to look into the parts and prices themselves and see that his breakdown is completely reasonable. Think about how much R&D went into this one!

Thanks for the support!

i am going to go back to the guy that sold me all of the parts and see if i can get him to come off of the price...if i can't, then i will take my business else where. i probably just need to call up LFP, since it is their product and see if they will cut me a deal...when i originally did this, i wasn't as concerned about price as i was fitment and returnability...if it didn't work, then i wanted to be able to return the stuff i bought and not have to mess with shipping it back...

And THAT is good advice, C32AMG_FL.

I remember when that thread was ongoing that you chimed in with your suggestion. I think most people who did the exchange used the Lightning pump because these guys worked out the mod/replacement with the Lightning pump. If it was worked out with the Shelby pump, we would have done it. That said, if it is exactly the same pump, I'll definitely use it if there's a 'next time'!
Therein lies my point - it's not about saving money per se - doing DIY on my car has very little to do with money, but it has everything to do with the satisfaction that you did it yourself, it was done correctly, and also the added bonus that we didn't have to grab our ankles for the stealership.
I'm a dab hand around a bronchoscope, but engines? - not so much. I have to rely on tried and tested methods coming from you and the rest of this forum.

Agreed...If I did not live in a city where it doesn't get above 95 but a few days a year, I would be all over this mod.

Excellent work 1Fast...

I gladly paid $99 for the lightning pump and would do so again. The lightning pump is all over ebay, and other sites. After doing a quick search on ebay, I was unable to find the GT pump.

I think that you did an incredible job putting this all together. Very nice work.

But I will say that you got hosed on your pricing. Being a former Cobra owner, and having LFP products on my car, your shop screwed you. The other guy didnt have to be so harsh about it, but a quick look at the LFP website would have revealed the lower pricing. Hopefully your shop will step up and do the right thing if they did promise you the best prices.

Seeing this setup makes me wonder more about SC porting. It looks identical to what we did on the Cobras.

I had to throw a shot of my car in Thats up on the CCW website.

nice car! my friend has a cobra and just put a 2.8 kenne bell on it, it is a beast!

i am wondering though, can you port these lysolm twin-screw blowers? i did not think that you could, but if it is possible, then i would do it in a heart-beat...

and i agree that my shop screwed me on the prices, not happy about that...but it is nice to be able to deal with someone local instead of having to mess with shipping...if they won't come off the price though, i am not going to deal with them anymore...thanks for the props on the fab job!

1fast, think of it this way, what if you would have gone to kleeman or one of the big benz tuners, imagine how much they would have charged for this mod!

I dont think anyone should be rubbing in that he may have paid a couple hundred too much, he did all of us a service by doing the R&D on this project.

Yeah, that's not a rip off. You can't expect some shop to have the lowest prices you can find on every product.

Well from the pictures I have seen of our SC, it certainly seems like the exact same kind of triangle port. Probably a question for Evosport. Steigmeir porting is one of the top companies for cobra sc porting. I would love to pop mine off and send it his way to see what he can do

I ported one several years ago to test.

No gains.

Heads and cams are the bottle neck. After those are resolved there might might some gains from porting kompressor.

Wanted to add my 2 cents here... this past weekend 1FASTC32 helped me install my renntech springs along with a bunch cumbersome supension parts (both tie rods, thurst arms and bushings)... it took around 6 hours to complete everything and all he "charged" me was lunch. This been said, he is not trying to make money out of anyone here.

Also, I drove his car and I wanted just to drive it home and never come back, lol. I saw his new IC setup and even though my knowledge is very limited on this field, this was a very impressive and clean job.

Thanks again very much for all the help.

Not yet... too busy at work today. Besides... the rain isn't helping either. I'll call first thing in the AM. The springs are great, the vibration is gone and the ride is tight! The lower look is also a plus!

UPDATE:

ok, wanted to throw an idea out to possibly make this easier on anyone wanting to do this mod...we can do this one of two ways...

1. you can just order the parts yourself from whereever you want to and have the intercooler reservoir and heat exchanger sent to me...i have the brackets welded in the correct locations, then send them to you...the only thing you pay me for is welding and shipping back to you...

2. Or, if you don't want to mess with that...then you can order everything through me (although it will be more expensive because the guy i ordered everything through will not come off of the price, so it is the same price i quoted above)

either way, it doesn't matter to me, like i said, just trying to help out...the other option would be for me to give you the measurements for the welds and you can try to have it done yourself if you think you have someone that is competent to weld aluminum...

just shoot me a PM if you are interested in any of those options, i will be glad to help out in anyway that i can...the brackets on the heat exchanger are welded at a 45 degree angle, if that info helps anyone...

Thanks for your help, 1FASTC32, do you have any pictures of the new heat exchanger installed, without the bumper cover? It looks like one of the hose connections, needs to make a U-turn.

I may be interested in doing the heat exchanger, but I don't want to move the battery.

I still need to get my ScangaugeII to work, to measure the IAT baseline, it does not seem to want to communicate, with the OBD2 port on my C32.
