i do have some pics, i thought they were posted, but maybe i did not send them to Bif...one of the connections does make a U-turn, but it still fits behind the bumper just fine...

if you do the heat exchanger without the seperate reservoir, i don't think it will be worth it, honestly...just don't think it would make that much of a difference because you still have the intercooler fluid mixing with the hot engine coolant...just my .02

I may be interested in doing the heat exchanger, but I don't want to move the battery.

I still need to get my ScangaugeII to work, to measure the IAT baseline, it does not seem to want to communicate, with the OBD2 port on my C32.
Scangauge II didn't work on my car either. So I returned it and bought the Carchip. Carchip can measure and plot IAT and it's simply plug and play.

Windshield washer can still be used...

I have been following this thread with great interest. I already have the evosport cooling upgrade, and the heat exchanger can be a great addition in terms of better cooling capacity.

BTW, Evo's cooling upgrade does not nullify the use of winshield washer fluid. I believe most of us who have this upgrade (including myself) runs the winshield washer fluid through the intercooler, since the system is separated from engine coolant circuit. I wonder why Vadim did not mention this. I believe there was a whole discussion about the use of window washer fluid as a cooling media for the intercooler system besides coolant.

I like the way it is for me now, since my window washer fluid is truly "heated" and boy does it wash well . In case you were wondering, I have been running EVO Stage II for 3 years now (30K miles) without ill effects of using window washer fluid for my intercooler. Just have to make sure I top the tank off every so often, since the more you use your washer, you are depleting your cooling medium!

i understood that this was the case with the evo washer mod to begin with...

there were two things that i did not like about this option, not saying it doesn't work, i just wanted to have washer specific fluid in the washer tank...

1. i run a specific type of intercooler fluid that could is not a great idea to allow contact with your paint on a regular basis...it helps with cooling better, that is the only reason i would rather run this fluid than the washer fluid with some kind of methanol mix...

2. i wanted a seperate reservoir that i can fill with ice at the track that won't let the ice circulate through the system and trash your intercooler pump...

I'm interested in doing a cooling upgrade. Either the evosport cooling upgrade to increase the fluid capacity of the coolant system, or a separate reservoir. The evosport mod is much more simple, and I believe it would provide some benefits, but the separate reservoir mod + larger heat exchanger is much better, but a lot more work. Currently I'm using distilled H20 and Redline water wetter as coolant. Would using water wetter in windshield washer fluid be damaging ie, to the paint, or possibly clog the spray nozzles? I was reading Redline's MSDS and tech info on their water wetter, and I'm still confused if it can damage paint. Seems like Redline Water Wetter is basically a mild surfactant with anticorrosive properties when used with distilled H20.

If I go the windshield washer fluid route, I'm going to buy a new tank, fittings, hoses, and clamps to add it to the coolant system. I like Vadim's idea about hooking up a Johnson pump to a relay switch during rapid cool down phases at the track.

the evosport upgrade is a great option if you are looking for simplicity, my only reservations were what i stated above...

what i did is very complex and not for the faint of heart, even with instructions, it will take quite a bit of mechanical skill in order for the upgrade to go smoothly...but i believe the benefits are worth it

on another note: has anyone picked up the latest copy of Modified's Luxury & Exotics? i picked it up friday at barnes and noble and they had a great article in there about a Renntech SL55 with custom twin intercoolers!!!!
Dynocomp in Arizona did the work...guess who i am calling next?

i don't have a scanner, but if someone that does have one can pick up the magazine and post it up here, it would definitely be relevant to the current discussion...

it is a mixture of 4 things...the base is some new stuff by DEI, then a little methanol, distilled water(of course), and something else i can't think of right now...i have the formula written down somewhere that one of the mustang shops here in town gave me...supposed to be the best at keeping things cool over just the typical water wetter and water mixture...

Are you using "Chill Charger"?

http://www.designengineering.com/pro...p&pid=62&tid=1

It seems one should only need to add deionized water to mixture.

correct...i just thought i would try this mixture out as suggested by this tuner...definitely don't want to be spraying this current mixture all over my winshield or paint...

just to throw this out there, i have an extra reservoir that will bolt up to the C32 that i will let go for $100shipped...

this will allow you to keep your winsheild washer tank intact and have your intercooler fluid seperated out...
