Quote: The intercooler/aftercooler under the supercharger is part of the problem. That is why I have reworked the flow on mine and having a custom one being built which increases the volume that flows through it. The entire cooling system needs to work together. The point of this exercise is not to make more power, but how not to loose power under heat soak.

if this new intercooler works id be interested in buying one if you can make it available for the rest of us. I agree that the intercooler under the supercharger needs to flow better. You cant just upgrade half of the system.

1fastc32, you have some great ideas that will work. I know that if you increase the fluid capacity, seperate the circuit from the rest of the cooling system and increase the rate of coolant flow it will help out to a point, but the intercooler itself needs to be upgraded also.
will there be any room by the new coolant tank to add a small fan?

agreed...i am actually checking into some different intercooler options.

the answer to the fan question is i don't know...there may be room, but i won't know that until get the battery moved...one thing to note though, is that if you changed up the cabin air filter, then you would have room for a bigger reservoir than what i bought, or adding a fan of some kind...

wanted to bump this up again...

i relocated my battery finally, not too hard, just very time consuming figuring out how to route the power wire from the front to the back of the car...

yes, i have some pics, just need someone to host them...or we can wait until i get the rest of it fabbed up and i can post up all of the pictures...

i am hoping that the rest of the project will be done in about a week, i am just waiting on my welder to relocate some brackets on the intercooler reservoir right now...then i need to pull the front bumper off to check the fitment on the new heat exchanger...

once i get everything fitted and installed, i will come up with a price for the kit if you are interested in buying it...

ok, i am finishing up the car today for the upgrade, just have a couple of pieces left to put back on the car...

everything went in pretty smoothly, considering i was not using parts that were made for the car...only a couple of small hiccups along the way

i have a ton of pictures that i am going to send to bif, he said he would host them for me...

took some IAT scans today since i could not wait to find out what it was doing, with the upgrade, i was able to drop 25-35 degrees off of my previous temperature...

and, after a run, even though the temp would go up during the run, it would immediately drop back down...where as before it would take a little bit to drop back down to normal temperature...

average temp before was 115 degrees with 130-135 degrees during a run...

average temp now is 85 degrees with 100 degrees during a run...

i would like to see something closer to ambient temp, but i think the only way that will happen is to upgrade the intercooler...

anyways, much more consistent than before and i was able to lower the temp considerably over the stock system...

i want to do some checking in to the intercooler to see what i can do to upgrade that next...

Just a thought, my wife has an Evo 8 and that is fitted with an intercooler spray that has two settings Auto (intermittent) and manual (always on) this runs off the w/wash reservoir and make a tremendous difference in the summer months. I suppose this is just a quick fix and I do not know how much it would cost to buy, mod and install.

i own an evo8, the intercooler sprayer is designed for air-to-air intercoolers, not air-to-water like the C32 has...

I guess you where not aware that the side terminals of the Optima is not rated for high ampre equipment including Starters. I hope the battery does not burn open internally leaving you stranded.

sweet! thanks for getting the rest of them up john...

couple of notes:

1. my friend was using a crappy welding machine so that we could get the prototype done and the project finished...i have access to some really nice welding machines now that we have measurements on all the peices, everything would be top notch...

2. i don't have any pics of the heat exchanger on the car, my wife deleted those by accident...but i will take some final pics of the setup on the car tomorrow...

3. let me know if anyone is interested in any part of the setup...i will be glad to offer different packages at cost...i am not trying to make any money off of these, just trying to help you guys out if you are interested in the intercooler setup...let me know, thanks
