Good luck. You may want to dig around some junkyards and find a small coolant tank. That makes a good starting point.

Might as well put it in the rear tire well and add an electric compressor to cool down the liquid

Evosport has a cooling upgrade package for the V8 Kompressor cars. You might want to look into it for ideas. Who knows, maybe you could make it fit on the V6K W203s?

You'd be able to fit a much larger resevoir tank in the trunk than under the hood. You could run the coolant lines through an electric compressor to significantly cool down the intercooler coolant. Use that in addition to a heat exchanger. It's just an idea. I know it has been done on other vehicles

How important is the size of the coolant tank? Isn't the cooling taking place in the radiator?

The larger the coolant tank, the more fluid it holds, so it won't heat up as quick

Window mount air conditioning unit. Watercooled/Supercooled computers use compressors as well.

You could pull a thermalelectric (TE) unit out of a small 12V cooler unit (electric Ice chest). They sell those powered 'beer coolers' for about 50$ to 100$ at places like Walmart, Kmart, Target, ect.. They are based on the Peltier effect, fully electronic, except for a fan.

Some people move the battery to the trunk and put the water tank in the old battery location. The other option is to find a location in the fenderwell or put the tank in the trunk.

Back in about 1999, there was a Mustang owner that had placed a small tank in his trunk with water lines running to the front of the car for cooling of his air/water aftercooler on his Vortech supercharger system. On the Vortech website, they have aftercooler kits with water tanks. you may be able to get a partial kit?

The mustang forum is a good place to check out some other options:

That's not the kind of cooler I was talking about. If those mustang kits are way out of your price range, completely skip the cooler part of the upgrade.

You're not going to find anything made specifically for our application. You don't need anything special. You have two lines, a supply to and a return from the tank. Put a cooler in the supply line to the tank. Das it

Use a cooling unit that has an in and out, not a cooler for beer cans

On second thought, you could just use a coolant/compressor that has a tank in it, and use that as your coolant resevoir

They are common place in larger industrial applications. I use one at work to simulate different coolant conditions in aircraft. I'm sure that smaller scale ones must exist. I tried googling for a minute, but can't think of a narrow enough term to find one.
