Green Air Filters!
I sell filtration for a living and see a few things that probably help make the Green filter that much more noticeable than the stock OEM fitler. If you look closely at the pleats on the OEM filter the ends are glued together making that portion of the filter non-permeable adding turbulance in the air box. Air needs to make an abrupt 90 degree turn downward then back upward prior to seeing the filter media. The OEM pleats are longer but are offer less usable surface on the sides due to the pleat gluing.
Green uses a much shorter pleat allowing for less turbulance in the air box. The rubber gasket does not allow side entry of air -- it has to come into the air box and 90 degree up where is sees all the pleated area of the filter.
I like the woven material description much more than the K&N layered technology. With less layers you are decreasing the pressure drop across the fitler allowing for more airflow......
A big A+ for Green in your C32.......
i dont know about that, i just put in a set in my c32 and i can notice the difference in power/throttle response and my stock filter was only driven on about 10,000K and that’s it soo they still had a lot of life in them. there is a difference in fuel eco. and a noticeable difference in the power/throttle response. well its something that i can notice because i'm very pick and i know my car's performance to the T soo i know there was a difference...
I put them in when my car had 10k miles and was otherwise bone stock. The stock filters were very clean. I didn't notice any change in performance, fuel economy, or throttle response.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Seriously, fresh OEM filters probably perform as well as clean Greens or K&Ns. Maybe the differential grows as they dirty up. And,of course, you can't clean the OEM filters.
I just went through an entire recharge kit on my K&N's today and still can't get them really clean again after only 10K miles - I think it's time for a switch.

Oxy sounds like a good idea but we have no real clue if what is in Oxy causes the the cotton material to shrink (opening up larger bypass areas in the media). I would stick to the recharger kit and get a majority of the dust out vs. ALL knowing your filter is more efficient with a light cake on it......
My C55 looks like it has a ram air effect with the scoops and as I recall on motorcycles the ram air effect does help when you are going fast. I would think the same for my car. Faster I go an less restrictive filter the better horse power. I'm not sure about the supercharged cars but for N/A it should help with a less restrictive filter. Standing still on a dyno doesn't help the ram air effect.
Some where on youtube they dyno a car with a wind blower attached to the intake and it gained horsepower, thought that was funny.
