My feedback on green filters

I ordered my green filters from eurotek on last sunday and I received it this morning.

Installation was very easy. All you need is a tera 20 X 4 screw driver. Took me about 15 mins to install. You can find installation guide here.http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/i...0339&pageid=84
I was expecting some "hissin" noise after installation but I didn't hear any.
Matter in fact, I couldn't tell any differences. I "think" engine sound got little louder and deeper....
When I test drove the car, once again, I didn't feel any difference.
Maybe i'll put my car back on the dyno soon and see if there are actual gain. I'm also going to check and see if I can gain some fuel mileage as well.
Stay tuned.

Just got back from 20 mins of hwy driving..
According to my onboard computer, fule mileage improved 2-3 MPG.
I usually get 20-21 on hwy with old filters but now i get 23 MPG..
I did couple of 3rd gear pulls and I "THINK" engine sound got louder and deeper.. again, can't tell a differences in power (we all expected this).

you are not going to get any hissing noise if that's what you are looking for. The stock ram airbox act as a muffler. search on Crossfire cold air intake if you are looking for something that'll produce the sound.
better mpg is simply because you are now using a clean filter instead of one that already has debris on them.

I thought I was going to get some hissin sound because one of member on with K&N filters did.
Yea, I figure MPG improved because of using brand new filters. However, I've never seen 24 mpg with brand new stock filters and MPG dropped quickly after one week or so.. but then again, weather could be another factor...

I've never seen my car get better than 22mpg on the freeway...new filters or not...LOL
about the hissing sound I did get something similar to a louder intake noise from the SL55 y-splitter, but I don't think those will work on the C55 because the airbox on the 55 is attached to the cover.

I believe your ECU needs to burn through one or two tanks of gas before it registers the increased air flow. What you could also do is add the renntech airbox and green filters and you'll notice more of a performance difference. For even more do that along with their programing.

Well the airbox, filters and ecu should get you about 25hp 30tq increase. Ask Neal about it he might be able to give you a little bit of a deal on it.

what is the final vedict of green filters v. the K&N? I have seen pics of the green filters shifting and distorting in the airbox and letting unfiltered air in?? Has anyone had the same problem with K&N's? If not I am going K&N.

Fitment of green filters to stock box were like glove. I don't see how unfiltered air could get in..

Only reason why I went with the green is that I've been told K&N filters could mess up the MAF sensor...

The issue was with green's gasket material and it has supposedly been corrected. I contacted them and we discussed this in detail. I directed the tech to some pictures on this forum. If anyone has this issue, they will replace the filters for you.
The issue was that the filter would collapse and unseat itself from the intake box creating an open area for dust laden air to bypass the filter all together.
The issue of green vs K&N, well? It's pretty much a matter of opinion. I like the process green uses to manufacture their filters and how they overlay the layers of material - and the meida type they use vs. K&N. I work for a 1.7 billion dollar filter manufacture so I can relate to small differences in manufacturing processes that create different types of medias and pressure resistances accross a filter. ONE RECOMENDATION to all those who have green, K&N or APE fitlers; don't clean them too often. A new filter out of the box is less efficent than one that has a nice dust cake on it.
