I just put the same set up in my car and i love it. I also started the car with just the headers on and no pipes and it sounded like a nascar. My butt dyno says faster but off to the real dyno to see real #'s.

How does it feel now that you're running the airbox and headers? How much improvement do you feel? How much was the box and headers? Do you have some dyno from before and after for comparisons? Looks very nice!

Great mod's! Would love to have them -- Renntech headers, airbox and Quaife diff. !!!
What does your C55 feel like now compared to stock?
I'll probably start with the Quaife LSD and all SuperSprint headers when they become available.

Its actually a big improvement the car just feels much more responsive at the low and middle and has more power on the top end. The box was like 1500, headers 4500 and ecu 2000. No dyno yet the only testing I've been doing is with a g-tech.

Holy ****! And i thought kleemann was expensive. So how much HP would you guesstimate you're putting down?

The LSD is a great add on even if your car is stock. The car launches faster and you can definitely corner and pull sharp turns better with it.

I'm guessing the whole setup with the mid section exhaust added somewhere between 40 to 60hp max. If I have Renntech do heads and cams I might gain another 30 to 40hp.

Nice! Cams won't do very much. I've gained probably around 17-18hp from my cams. Heads might be better. Have you asked RT how much to do the heads? I'd be interested if it's reasonable. Reasonable price and gain ofcourse.

Anyway, I thought you were a kleemann nut? You might cause a disturbance in the force

They said its a pricey job on the 3 valve engines and might run around $7-8K. I think they said the gain on my car would be around 25hp from them. You might gain a little more since you have a SC. Talk to Ken or Hartmut they can give you better info then I can.

if you get a Renntech part.

$1500 for overlaying the airbox....no more comments. Although, you can't beat an almost free engine overlay in carbon/kevlar weave....

In comparison, these Kleeman V8 headers look alot better designwise. And they sell 'em for about $900 less than what you quoted for those Renntech headers. Each primary tube has it's own path to the 4-1 collector. Better design = more HP gain. They're not as good as long tube equal-length headers, but still better IMO than the Renntech design.

This basically sums up my opinion of those Renntech glorified stock replacement manifolds, uhhh "headers." It's been debated much more completely in this thread from the E55 section. Funny thing is I've learned more by reading threads from the E55 forum than the C32 forum.
BTW, Evosport V8 headers are also very nice.

Just curious...what does a set of headers cost for these cars ?

![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Should I post a picture of the stock headers they look nothing alike. All RENNtech headers are hand built from mandrel-bent stainless steel seamless tubing and CNC machined stainless steel flanges. By utilizing computer aided design, these headers provide and average gain of 25 horsepower and 25 ft-lb of torque. Plus they are covered for the remainder of your cars warranty or for two years, which ever is longer. Also these are the only headers on the market that offer true bolt-on installation by mounting directly to the OE down pipes.
Your an idiot

Okay, I was going to let it go, but....
You bought the Renntech headers over the Kleeman header because a small number of people had a crack in the Kleeman header? Rock's E55 had a crack in his Kleeman headers and they were replaced by Kleeman. FYI, any header can crack, even the heavy stock exhaust manifold can crack because of environmental circumstances. Nobody can guarantee that a SS header won't crack or fail at some point. If you think your Renntech headers are better then so be it, especially since Hartmut must know everything if he was the Ex Tech Director of AMG. You are correct, the Kleeman headers do require downpipe modification, but you do not need to install high flow cats to use the Kleeman headers.
My idiotic mistake on the airbox.
I had it confused with the front engine cover.
I have no credentials in engine building or design. I only spent 4 months and about $15,000 building a new AMG motor. I just wanted people to know that header design can vary by a large degree, and nobody's opinion of them is always the same.
