How to make my Transmission stronger?

Renntech offers a tranny upgrade. Also they can do Cams and port and polish the heads as a custom job. As for pistons if your keeping the car N/A getting higher compression ones should add more power, but if you add a SC you'll want lower compression, so you can run higher boost. A 6.1 liter conversion like the one Brabus offers is super pricey, but you'll gain like 80-90hp off just that. In the end though you'll need someone to program all this into your ECU to see the full potential. My first though would be to talk to Renntech to see what they can offer if you don't have anyone lined up to do this.

I must say that I liked your taste in mods and you seemed to have things done right...sans the HPSgen2....not to bring up a past nightmare. Guys, if he is going to go through with this I'm sure the outcome is going to be crazy in a good way, he isn't some chump stiring around ideas on the internet. If he wants it, its gonna happen.
I personally wish you would buy a used C43 to do the DTM conversion. I have such an itch for the older W202 and 190E DTM's.
I've had a good technician say to me, "You take these things apart, and you just can't believe that they actually work!"
Aftermarket work on transmissions is VERY risky. There's a solid 50% chance that it will go just fine (of course you don't really know if they did anything to truly strengthen the transmission- and neither do they); but there's an equal chance that something will go wrong. THEN you get the finger-pointing as to who is responsible.
If I were you, I'd leave the tranny as is, and keep my eyes open for a salvage unit to keep as a spare. If you really want 600+ HP, maybe you need a Z06 as a backup car.
I just hate to see someone spend money on a money pit.

I would have the motor built a little better suited to an F/I application. Both of our motors are built as N/A engines and I feel they can be improved to accept a blower or turbo.
Stronger internals
Lower comp. ratio
Open up and polish air path intake/exhaust
Upgrade fuel system mechanical/electrical
With the available room I think a kleemann type setup for a blower may be your only choice. I don't see much room for a centifi S/C or turbos. However.....there have been some pretty nasty custom STS turbo systems done. They mount at the exhaust rear so the space problem would be gone. MTI made a 1000hp GTO with the STS rear mount turbos.
Staying at 5.5 displacment with a little engine work to handle boost I think you could get that car to make 600hp+ easily with an F/I setup.
You still in contact with Josh at HOP. I wonder what his ideas would be. A custom STS system would be a first and pretty sick.
My suggestion would be to go with Kleemann kompressor, port the heads, add cams, headers and some tuning and you should be close to 580HP.
Find DragonAMG threads, that is what he did to his C55. It has been done and it proven.
I run DOT-R comp tires on most of my street cars (C55, M3, Mini Cooper S JCW) and what can I say... once you try it you'll never be happy with normal slippery street tires again. Just plan on replacing them often.

Is this not the case for the C55?
