Yes they are depo light housings............when I bought the car it already had them. That why it was an easy choice to go with Carlab 8000k HID kit. But if I had to start from scratch I would have bought an OEM bixenon set from MBenzNL. I also have a 04 C230 and I got the factory bixenon and I compared the two and found only one cosmetic difference besides the fact that there is no auto-leveling with these depo housings. If the auto leveling matters then Depo isn't the way to go. I am very happy with the outcome and it only cost me the $280 I spent for the Carlab 8000K HID kit and dunkin donut coffee and bagels to have them installed............ah good friends are fabulous!

Now the kit did take about an hour or so to install and some drilling involved but everything else was tightwrapped on. Will post pics when I can.

Headlights look great. Did you have to set Xenon=Present for them to work with the Carlab kit? I have a 02 C32 with foggy xenon lights. I was thinking about buying the Depo lights and the Carlab Kit, I would save around $500-$600 over OEM Bixenons from steve. Would you recommend it? Any major wiring modifications required?

you should watch, b/c your hid kit might melt the depo housing.

my friend's car had aftermarket "angel eyes" and his hit kit melted the housing.

Well I do reccommend but keep in mind u will lose auto-leveling since you already have it. It looks great and I am satisfied but since you are coming from foggy xenons I would at that point give you my honest opinion and go with steve that way you wont lose your auto-leveling but if that doesn't matter then get the Depo with a Carlab HID kit. I didn't have to change any settings since the kit is for halogen lights but in your case you will have to repogram the setting at the dealer. You should see what they would charge you to set it and see how much total. If the cost is close the the price steve asks then go with steve cause there are instructions on how to remove front bumper to install OEM lights on this forum. Now I don't know if for the depo housings they removed the front bumper to install.

I heard about that but I think it depends who you use.I researched Carlab and not one issue concerning that. But I will keep an eye thanks.

the aesthetics of your headlight are great! too bad the beam sux. but
you're only a couple of feet from the door. back up about a car length or more
and take another photo so we can get a better view of the cutoff and beam
spread. judging from the initial shot, that has some serious glare characteristics.
that happens because the projector lens has a focal point designed for halogen
bulb. kinda like a magnifying glass, it has a sweet spot designed for specific bulb.

i went the Depo route for E320, though I pulled the projector out and inserted a
bixenon projector from an E55 in its place.

I will try to take a pic soon. But I expected cause I read it that I will most likely have glare issues. What you paid for the bixenon projector from E55? I did drive the car a little and feel that the glare is not the greatest but it good enuf for me. I want to say I am more excited that I am able to mimic the xenon lights and everything else is oversight.

Thanks. I don't think my foggy xenons have auto-leveling? I'll call carlab on monday see what they say since my car already has xenons.

u might only need to buy bulbs but your problem is getting rid of foggy lens...................u have two choices and its MBenzNL or Depo with HID kit. I strongly reccommend the OEM route but if u really don't want to spend the money like I didn't the Depo and kit is the way to go. Keep in mind that you most likely will have beam glare issues thou and thats why I reccommend OEM. But if you are like me I careless about the glare issues............but if I can minimize it a little I will.

c-
E55 proj were relatively inexpensive. current street price is approx $150 +-for
the pair, shipped. I had an extra pair and just sold that to someone who is
about to do same for Depo in his W210 E55.

the scary thing was opening up the Depo and yanking the
halogen proj out but with careful, measure-twice-cut-once precautions, it was
well worth it. the high beam setting puts a smile on my face whenever i use it.
sucker is bright....the cutoff is quite precise...foreground is well saturated.
though the E55 isn't the state-of-the-art in terms of HID projectors (others
may have broader horizontal coverage), it was near drop in for my Depo
headlight and made the conversion a 1-2 day project.

Hey man - lookin' good! The rims looks good too!
Question - did you paint over the calipers or replace them? Just wondering because the 'AMG' logo isn't there. Lookin' sweet though!

They were there but in order to fit winter rims he sanded down and ended up removing it before getting a spacer(I guess he was trying to save me $$$). Is there any places that sells that logo for the caliper? I in the Spring plan to repaint all 4 calipers and would like to add logo in the rear also.

Since you have xenon already, DEPO housing will not work since the wire plug are completely diffrent. On Xenon headlights you have 3 plugs on the left light and 2 plugs on the right light. Halogen car only have 1 plug for both sides.

DEPO only works for cars that have standard Halogen. Contact Steve MBZNL for OEM Bix Conversion.

Hope this help

Thanks Darwin,

Very helpful, the main reason I wanted to change my lights is the alignment screws are bad (according to the dealer) and one is lighting up the sky. Turning the screws doesn't do anything. And the dealer said my warrenty doesn't cover it. I'll try opeing up the housing to see if i can fix it, if not I will contact Steve. Thanks again.
