best tires- advan ad07 or new bridgestone 01r. best bang for buck is s03 if on closeout. this tire has a stiff sidewall, i had them on my 3000gt vr4, worked great.
guy i know (c55 owner) ran all summer -street and track on pilot cups. only now corded fronts after 8 track events.

The BFG G-force KDW's are junk, I had them on my S2000 - they will last you about 8,000 miles max on the back, even less if you drive in cold weather!!!
You're right about the Bridgestone S-series though. I had S-02's on the S2000 originally, and they were sticky as hell. Great tires, just don't try driving in any kind of slush or snow with them.
I was a lot happier with the Kumho ECSTA/ASX's I replaced the KDW's with. They lasted a lot longer and their performance was pretty comparable. About half the price too, perfect tires for winter.
I have Conti's on my C32, wasn't planning on changing for winter this year, I'm just going to take the CTA bus instead.

If you plan to track the car (an MB) do not use the corsa. After 1 session the tire totally fell apart. The interior cords ruptured, and the tire slowly lost pressure and was flat by the time we got back to LA from Palmdale. The side wall could not take the stress even though it was an XL rated tire. This is actually normal for this tire and unless set for that tire the car can easily kill the tire in under 20 miles of track use.
They ride well, look great, have wonder traction...BUT they fall apart when used on a car with little camber. They pretty much do not work unless the car has more than 2 degrees of negative camber.
Sport Cups do not have this issue but for a street car not the best idea.
I would go for a set of PS2's since its the best all around tire IMHO.

i run these tires for my track days. they will not work for street as they hum loudly above 20 mph also the soft compound is easily damaged by rocks etc gouging into the rubber. tire rack was not too entused about the a048 as well. i'm starting to feel the same.

Which KDWs did you have?? I was talking about KDW2..
I've been hearing only good things about these tires and this is what I have on right now..
I've tried S02.. Very sticky indeed and pricy.. It only lasted 8000ish miles on my rx7.
Kumho is afforable yet high quality tires.. lasted about 15000 on my Supra.
If money is no object, consider pilot sport competition rad.
Check out tirerack and compare them aroudn a lil

I wasn't aware of the KDW2 - I'll bet that they made some substantial improvements over the originals that I had. Got mine back in '03.
I just can't see spending that much on tires when the Kumho's are only $98 each and they handle better than the KDW's in the snow too. Maybe they'd be closer to the BFG KDWS instead.
When I say 'handle better in the snow', I'm talking about installing them on the S2000 with no ESP & a 6-speed, obviously a much lighter car than the C32 as well. That car had horrible traction problems in anything other than perfect weather. I really hope the C32 is better, but it seems that my ESP is correcting me all the time.
Z-rated tires just wear out too fast for their price...

i found the s02s to be a bit greasy on my s2000. looped the car a few times.
kdw =Dry Wet why use in snow? for the lightweight s2000 you need real winter tires. the torsen LSD will get you through; as i understand from posts on s2ki.com i didn't end up running mine in winter.
my c32s front ps2s are going strong. 20K+. one rear got damaged but the other is not yet down to wear bars.
i think it was reeves callaway that said "the car and driver are there to make the tires work". don't skimp. it's almost a life and death issue. one day you may need to get on it to avoid an accident and the big drilled rotors will be no help if you don't have high coefficient of friction between the you and the road.

If people are going to comment on tires, it is far better to talk about what tires you have had in the past, and what you have now.
I have run three sets of performance tires on my Coupe. Coming from the stock Michellins I went to the Bridgestone RE750. The tires were quite loud on pavment, but had a good wear rating. However, I ran into two rear right flats. On the second flat, I had to go from the 1 lane to the 4 lane. In about an eigth of the mile the sidewall had just gotten destroyed. The tire shop would not warranty the tire. In both flats, I saw that there were bubbles on the sidewall of the tire. Don't know why, but happened twice.
I am now on my second set of Toyo T1R. On my first set, I did alot of spirited driving, and after a wear in period, I found my confidence increasing in hard cornering. I had my car buddies commenting on how far I could push the car into turns. This tire is a definite improvement over the Bridgestones I had before. Much better in the wet, and it has an aggressive tread pattern. My current set, I have not done any performance driving, and I think I can get about 20k miles out of them.
I hope my input is helpful. Guys, when you are getting tire advice, insure that the person you are getting it from has some credibility. There are two things you just don't compromise on. Brakes and Tires.

Been running Pirelli P-Zero Rosso Asymmetricos all round for about 5 months. Quite pleased with them. Had Continentals before. Not noticed an improvement in performance (as I drive like a daisy), but there is a subtle improvement in the quality of ride and compliance.
I hope this helps...

This is exactly the kind of post I can't stand. You got the tires yestarday, now you are an expert on them? You haven't even worn the tires in.

I'm sorry for not posting a great detail report on KDWs. I'll try harder to be more like you next time.... .
Please do read my other post.

Happy thanksgiving y'all!!

I think the Falken RT-615 is a great choice; esp. if you want to occasionally track your car...otherwise, you can't go wrong with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3’s. Rated #1 overall by R&T.

I had s03's on a prior car. They are nothing like the old s02's. The so2's were great although they wore quickly. s03's are garbage. They're extremely heavy and very greasy when you heat them up. They did work well in the rain though. The best tires I have had were bfg kd's. I cannot comment on the kdw's. The KD's are amazing but are terrible in the wet
I have ps2's on the 911. The sidewalls are too rubber for my taste, but that's how they're designed to work. You really have to load them slowly. They grip well though.

GS D3s are great gripwise (especially in the wet), but seem to kick up more debris (chips) and wore relatively quick on me. I'm on PS2s now.
