just purchased '02 c32, possible pulley problem

hi all,

i just purchased an '02 c32 and i'm loving it save for one thing. sometimes on deceleration i will hear a squeaking from the engine bay. it sounds like a pulley issue but i'm not so sure. can anyone give me any advice. or should i take a vid clip and post it?

thanks!
meek

Any word form Vadim? I think my C32 is doing the same thing. Does yours ever make the sound at idle?

looked into it myself, no reply from vadim. i ended up replacing the belt, balancer, and tensioner and no longer hear anything. i also have a mercedes mechanic that i've been using forever and is certified w/his own shop and customer base say that noise is expected from these cars and if it doesn't bug you to leave it alone.

itsmeek:

I am sorry but I did not receive your PM.

One of the tensioner pulleys is notoriuos for making a squeaking noises and it is very easy to replace.

There is another Vadim on the board. I am Vadim @ MBLN.

Thanks.
