Wanna sell your brakes?

If any of you have a low mileage set of brakes off a C32 that you'd like to sell, drop me a note via email.

In fact, if many of you are going to big brakes and want to sell yours post away - there are many C Coupe owners that would love an upgrade.

I'd need the rotors, pads, calipers - you can keep your plumbing (uh and fluid )

Peet,

We will be carrying the C32 brake upgrade for all w203's. If you are looking for a new set, let me know.

Thanks

not selling mine. just here to remind you that if you upgrade the front brakes, you probably will need new rims too. i don't think that the stock c7/non c7 rims will clear the calipers in the front.

I think the C7 rims will clear them. Because the C32 and the C7's are both 17's. Mine stop fine on my coupe. Maybe down the road I will get a set of porterfields or some slotted rotors.

the wheel issue may be valid

Although they are both 17", I dont think the stock rims will clear the large caliper. It may, but I seem to remember reading that someone wanted to get one of the rims to use as a spare and the issue had to do with not clearing the brakes. Just check it very thoroughly before you dive.

those c7 wheels will not clear the brakes. it doesn't matter if the wheel size is 17,18, or 19, some wheels will not clear.

Besides the wheels that come specifically on the C32, or other MB's with Brembo calipers, it is safe to assume that every other OEM wheel will require a spacer in order to clear the caliper.

Other than the rims from AMG (if the offset is correct), all other oem brand rims will need spacer.

no need to really upgrade the brakes unless you plan on track use. Bigger rotors does not equate to shorter stopping distances.

That is not necessarily the case. When I upgraded from my stock CLK430 brakes to Brembo 13.1" brakes with Ferrari F50 calipers, my normal stopping reduced greatly. For the first couple days, I found myself having to adjust about 15 ft infront of stop signs.

Changing from a 2 piston to a 4 piston caliper will almost always provide satisfaction. Brakes stability and smoothness is increased, as less work is being placed on each piston. Some argue that brake upgrades are only worthwhile if you are going to track. Based on my experience with Brembo, every street car I own will have a set.

just take W208 CLK430 and CLK320 sport for example. other than the engine and brakes, they are essentially the same car. The CLK430 does stop better with the bigger brakes.

When people refer to clearing the brakes, they typically do not mean vertically. Some 18" wheels will clear, others will not. The reason is the caliper are much wider than stock calipers, and the wheel needs more backspacing behind the center in order to "clear the brakes." An easy solution if your wheels don't clear the brakes would be to add spacers.

C7 and spacers

Ben,
Since you have access to a C32 and must have customers with C7 rims, maybe you could take a C7 and try to install on C32, thus putting the C7 question to rest.

Probably sell a spacer and more brakes if no need to upgrade wheels.
