C32 Transmission

Hi guys,
I am a newbie to this forum and I need you help! Here is my situation: I own a 2002 C 320, and decided to replace the engine/transmissio/differential with with those with a C32. I got a very good deal for them in a local salvage yard. All is good and the car started after we reflashed the ECU. However the transmission I bought did not come with it's TCU. It's sticking in one gear. It will shift normally until it gets stuck in one gear, and sticks there. My mechanic says that i need the AMG "code" for the tranmission control unit so that he can enter it the TCU, and it will work fine. I am not able to find such a code. He told me (and several other experts) that a code from any AMG car will do. I need that code. Can you help me out you guys?

Thanks..

The TCU on ebay is for C320, it doesn't work. The one you saw on ebay is for C32 AMG?

Is it possible for any body to just give me the codes found in their TCUs? It will help tremendously.

Your transmission control unit (ETC) needs to be "unlocked" by one of a few people who can do it and SCN coded using the Mercedes-Benz factory computer . This requires acquiring coding from Mercedes which may be hard to get for a version other than your own. As much as I hate to send anyone to the dealer for customer pay work, they may be your best bet, but you will have to find someone there willing to work outside the box to help you.

I have capability of SCN coding but you will still need a new trans controller. VIN numbers cannot be changed on Preprogrammed transcontrollers. Same goes with the ME module. I would also check and see if there are any codes stored in any of the modules. Proper diagnosing will require a factory scan tool.

My mechanic has access to the factory scanner he said what we need is the EGS code (4 digit ex: ef0g) for any AMG transmission. Can any one retreive that for me from there TCU?. In German its called (EGS-Codierung).

Same Car!

Its the same car, but I got some advice from some senior members of this forum to post in several related forums im mbWorld. Its actually the same car, but both the EGS code for the tranny of a C32 and of the SLK32 will do for me.

The one I saw was for a C32, as I was thinking about picking it up because I have the tranny jerk and this one was for an 03, which might fix it.

At any rate, this was a few days ago and I don't see it anymore.
