FINALLY 02 c32 stock VS 07 335 stock
We were on the freeway about 930pm light traffic and we had open road. So i downshifted to 3rd going about 65 or 70 rmps about 3800. We both gun it at the same time. For a moment he was right next to me then right when my rpms started climbing I started walking it. When i shifted into 4th I was about a car length ahead and steady walking. So that was the first race.
Second race was at a light. Light turns green and WOT we are flooring it mean while i was in first with esp off. Tires lit up for a second and I gained traction as soon as that happend bam i was gone. I pulled 1/2 in 1st and then when i shifted into second bam I pulled 1 1/2 cars on him. By 3rd gear he gave up.
Fun race and just to let you know next time I will be bringing the video camera to show you guys the race.
I am not going to lie I really thought those cars were going to be faster. But there not.

In part, it's a reaction to the market. Have you seen the numbers on the new Infiniti G35 Sport 6MT? If you line it up with an equally-priced BMW, it crushes it. If you line it up with the 335, it's a close call -- but you save thousands of dollars on the G35. And the old arguments about Japanese cars not having "character" or "road feel" do not apply to the G35. Even if it is not the equal of the 3 series, it's certainly in the mix.
I think it's funny/odd that BMW would go to a turbo. I've always viewed BMWs as building purist performance engines that don't need a "crutch" like a turbo or supercharger. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against turbos or superchargers -- I just always had the deepest respect for BMW's ability to get the HP/torque without one (or two).

no, all i was saying is that it is more hyped than it should meaning it leads to disappointment - at least for me it does. there have been too many inconsistent stories floating around about this car. ie: kill stories crushing a c55/ c 32 etc. i guess i am just a little bias. With that said, i do think it is a nice car. I agree with your comment on pure power and not have to rely on a TT or a supercharger ( not that there is anything wrong with those bad boys). Heck, if I had the money, the first thing I would do is a kleemann SC.

There's a lot of hype towards the 335 because it's super powerful and super performance at a great price. Remember, this is not the "M", so it's not going to take out a C32/C55/S4, but it will kill a C350 (or CLK350), Audi A4, IS350, or any other car in it's class. Oh and on top of that, it looks sooooo sick! (especially the coupe).

That being said, the C32 is a really, really fast car that deserves a lot of credit. It can keep up with V8's easily, so obviously the new M3 will be too much for it, but when the C63 comes we'll see who wins the round.

335 is new generation. M3 will be the peak of it's class.
If the M3 does not eat the C32, it'll be a sad day.
The C63 (or whatever) should put up a good fight, if not win.
I didnt really like the new look untill I went and looked at one at the dealership.
it looks even better in person trust me
i'm planning to move to a coupe next year... and probably going with the ECU and exhaust mod to start. I'm just waiting for more tunners to finish with their tunes.
stock vs stock ... close but the C32
modded vs modded.. stage 1 vs stage1 .. very good race.. But the 335 makes more torque with that set up.
Despite of the speed. The C32 is now beginning to show its age and pretty soon it will cost me more to own than my E55.
I have no extended warranty of my C32.

do you know if he was stick or auto?
the 335i auto is almost as quick as the manual.. but the manual should have a bit better trap speed (less drivetrain loss).
I'll wait to pick up a slightly used 335i, rather then spend $45k for one now.
I respectfully disagree. I've spent a good deal of time considering, then seeing the 335i in person. It looks fat, overweight, ponderous. This from a big fan of BMW's, by the way. I wonder how much more the 335i coupe weighs than the E46 330ci?
I don't know, guess to each their own. I think it looks amazing. And it's about time BMW did a hard-top convertible.
