2002 to 2003 differances...
what where the differances between the C32's from 2002 to 2003...is it worth paying the extra for a 2003 if i find a 02 with just as many miles...only thing pushing me towards the 03 is that warranty is still good. unless i can find a 02 that is certified to 100K
last question is...i know that the warranty is a big thing for these cars...so if i get a used 03 under the warranty and i want to extend it to 100K. can i? and say if the warranty is already expired can i get it certified for a resonable amount...?
thanks in advance guys...
I don't think Navigation was available on 2002 models.
If the original manufacturer warranty expired, then you will NOT be able to extend it through Mercedes, for example, STARMARK warranty. But you may be able to get an after market third-party warranty.
If the car still had the manufacturer warranty, then you can purchase extended waranty through your local Mercedes dealership.
The two cars are very close, and even though there might be minor differences, I think you should ultimately decide by how good of a deal you're getting. If you find a "good" deal, you should take it on either model.
Good luck...
A few drivability issues are at stake betweent the two years. The Transmission TCU was re-programmed in 03 to help eliminate the "jerk" between 2nd and 3rd. Upgrading the 02's TCU should correct the problem. Also, Vadim @ MBLN pointed out that the 02's intercooler pump is always running as the 03's runs only when the S/C is running. This can mean a difference of 20 degrees air temps in the S/C, meaning better performance.
I'm no expert so don't take my advise as the gospel truth. I'm just doing my best.

I have a vent on the dash board that I don't think is on later models.
I think a read somewhere that the first aid kit was relocated but I'm not 100% sure.

A forum member pm'd me that they had a couple from their shop.. but after initial contact I haven't heard back.. Guess I should try again..

2002 has the Navigation option.
other than that there are three differences:
the 2002 has the cf looking exterior b-pillar while the 2003-2004 switched to the cheaper looking shiny plastic.
the digital climate control buttons in the 2003-2004 is less sticky, but does not look as good.
the later 2003-2004 has the engine plaque that says who built ur engine if you can read the tech's signature.
It did not come with a signature plate.
- and for free then give me 5 years 100K miles...(all depends on when the car hit the road...)
now my other big question was those of you that are hitting 50K miles and the pumps are going out and s/c failing... where most of the problems in your 50k...so are these warranties absolutly needed?
