Beat a c32 in my V
Im glad I went with my V instead of an older c32, as I put the beating on one last night from 40-80. But they are nice cars and I would take an e55 if I could afford it over my V. What are all your experiences racing cts-v's? And also what are stock c55's running these days....would my V be a good race against one??? Thanks guys.

me too i got beat by a cts v last oct at lime rock.
1st lap 2nd lap
CTS-V 69.692 70.987
C32 70.232 70.719
i was barely pulling on him on the front straight at lime rock. he would have better accel out of the corners.
the driver had previous track experince but had to run with an instructor being new to CART. i lined up behind him for final session but he spun off in the esses (track was contaminated oil or glycol) i started sliding out as well but kept it on the road anyway we lost touch and could not run togther. the laps above were from the timed segment.
good engine decent handling but heavy car. close to 4000 lbs right?

Best part about owning a CTS-V is that when you're in it, you don't have to be looking at it.
guarantee ive gottne more compliments in the last 6 months than you have in the history of you owning that c32.....but to each his own

thought they were heavier. as i mentioned i was pulling on him on the straight but not enough to pass.
the ower of the ctsv was very much into his car. like me, he wanted something different vs the plethora of evos and stis.
hope we meet again on track this year. the outcome will be different.

Sorry to burst your bubble over here. BUUUt....a maggied cts-v puts down waaay more than 430 to the wheels, secondly, I can beat a c32 in my stock V all day long,. so him only beating you by that much is BS. Secondly a maggied V is a 11 second car from a roll, your c32 is high 12 to 13.4 second car. So please spare the rude insults to the V by saying your c32 hung with it.....what did he start in 4th?
In fact. ll challeneged anyone who is local to me who has a c32 in mostly stock trim to come take a shot at my exhaust/ short shifter V.

no lies ..... I just stated I beat a c32.....I then searched and found tons of posts saying "i beat a cts-v in my c32" so I there fore extend a welcoming hand to ANY near stock c32 (just as my V is near stock (exhaust and short shifter) to a race from any MPH, I guarantee not only a win, but a rape.

Seems to me that would be the 1st thing to bring up when you were arguing w/amgjerry about who would win? when both were stock??
Your story/time line/doesn't make sense

I don't doubt you'd beat one, but if it happened the way you say? why not just say this earlier on the Maggied CTS, thread? you could've said "I beat one stock, last night" but you didn't you kept asking challenging people to race you and never mentioned it??

No offense, but you are comparing apples to oranges, just like I am. So what, a couple of guys beat an overpriced cadillac. Go pick on the ricer crowd. They seem more in-line with your mentality...
I agree with Fifth Rings comment completely, "Best part about owning a CTS-V is that when you're in it, you don't have to be looking at it".
Not my cup of tea.

well i don't base my purchase decisions on the number of compliments the car may receive but i do feel the c32 amg is way more classy than the cts v. i personally would much prefer to pull up to a nice restaurant in my benz......the cts v is very capable but sorely lacks the cachet of a mercedes.
