Opinions please.. 1/6 Evo vs. SLK55 Wheels

Ok, I picked up a set of Carlsson 1/6 Evo wheels, diamond edition... Non staggered 8.5x18's. I was going to put these on and see how they feel.

Opinions on the Carlsson vs the SLK55 wheels I have now? I know the Carlsson's are pretty dated, but I think they are still pretty hot wheels..

Ditto that -- I think the SLK55 wheels look much better and more in keeping with the W203 AMG body style.

Thanks for the responses so far.. I may have a set of Carlsson's for sale.. LOL.. I'm still gonna throw them on for a few laps around the block to see what I think.. I like the multi-spoke look.. Would really like a set of Carlsson 1/16 or 2/16 but haven't been able to find any in my $ range..

No spacers on the SLK55 wheels.. perfect fit. I will find out how heavy they are when they arrive. I hope they weigh less than the AMG wheels.

I will vote for SLK55 wheels. The Carlson 1/6 Evo will look better on older MB and still a nice wheel.

why would you use the carlsons for track events? Just by their appearance I would predict they are grossly heavier. Also why not dump both and go 19 8.5/9.5?

I was looking at a set of forged 19's.. but I want to get an LSD installed as well as engine mods.. I needed a new set of tires and got these wheels for less than a set of tires would cost. It will be a pain to sell them.. Just trying to sell anything is a pain.. You give a fair price and everyone sends you offers below.

I dunno, the SLK wheels aren't all that light.. about 27lbs each.. I may just pop the wheels on for a few weeks.. I was also thinking about getting the SLK55 wheels fully polished and coated.. That might be interesting too..

I gotcha. I have been thinking about doing the same thing in regards to the 19's, however I have a set of new tires that I am trying to kill to substantiate such an endevour with judicious burnouts!! haha. These contintental tires are THE absolute worst tire I have ever had!!!

LSD would be nice and I have been toying around with that idea as well, but honestly I am about at the point where I am not going to stick a single dime into the car and just wait for the new c63 and probable get that.

I vote for the SLK 55 Wheels! I just picked up a set for my C55. Keeps the car current, the CLK 63 wears the the turbines. They just look better than the old school Carlssons.

Regards,
