03 C32 Pads/Rotors (WHAT TO GET)

Hello, my brake service light came on recently in my 03 C32. Would you recommend changing all 4 at the same time when doing brakes, or just the fronts if the rears dont need them or vice versa? Also, I have been researching but havent been able to find much feedback on aftermarket rotors/pads.

I know there are the Zimmerman rotors, and then then stock brambo rotors (which are better)?

I know there are the porterfields, stock, or the tirerack pads. Which are better?

I swapped both front and rear to EBC Red Stuff, my rotors are just fine for now.

I just bought Porterfields ... everyone seems to say good things about them.

EBC RedStuff here. No complaints, no noise. I did Zimmerman rotors last Fall. Also no problems.

Check rear pads visually. They wear more slowly than fronts. You may not need them.

Last week, I had all four rotors, pads and brake lines done. Thanks to 1FASTC32 for the help and expertise. Here is a breakdown of what I used:

(2) Front Stock Rotors - $95 ea (203-421-09-12). BTW, these are extremely heavy.
(2) Rear Drilled Stock Rotors - $150 for the pair (I got them from a guy that purchased them through a GB here, sold the car before installing them)
(4) Axxis Ultimate Brake Pads - the pair for the front I got them for $70ish on ebay and the rear were around $40 I think.
(4) Goodridge Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines w/ CF finish - $120
(4) OEM Brake sensors - $19. For some reason my car only has (2) brake sensor connections, both on the passenger's side... I have an extra pair if someone needs them.
Brake Fluid & Brake Cleaner

In conclusion, the car's braking respond is much better. Feels really solid and controllable. The brake dust is not as bad as with the OEM pads. I did the proper procedure to bed the pads into the rotors, but I feel that I have to do every once in a while, there is a squeezy noise right before it completely stops at cold temperatures.

The brake service light never came on and the pads had probably 15-20% left but the rotors were really bad and I didn't want to take any chances.

Porterfield R4-S! 100%

Follow instructions to break them in properly before you drive hard.
My first set lasted 80k miles. Very little rotor wear and low dust.
I combined braking w/ downshifting via touch shift to get these great results.

Just put a set on my ML as well. Very low dust...

I am thinking of getting the stock rotors up front, and the porterfield r4s pads. (Also where can I get the pads the cheapest)?

Can I just get the rear rotors resurfaced?

Also, do I need to buy new OEM sensors or how does that work?

I have not had much luck finding the Porterfields. The EBC Red Stuff pads are everywhere. I would not resurface the rear rotors. Put the new pads on and bed them in. Re-surfacing can do more harm than good.

That's a fair price for all four. (Where did you find them?)

Porterfield street compounds are a great pad and have run them for years in another car. Just don't track them or any other street pad including the axxis. Their operating temperatures are well under 900 degrees or above.

contact them at: www.porterfield-brakes.com or at 949 548-4470. The C32 pads are: Front AP847 @ $195.95, and Rear AP603 @ $119.95

I'm in the same boat right now. My car is at Firestone getting the font looked at. They are going to try and just turn the rotors and replace the pads. Looking to get the R4-S pads.
My question is this, why was there no sensor or warning light goin off screaming at me that my brakes were shot? More info on this is posted in the thread, "My saga continues".

Were your brake pads worn down past the sensors? If so you would of had a warning unless you bought your car used and the last person disabled the sensors.
