Tiresssssssss
1) Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position
2) Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
or
3) Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
I know the pricing on all three and the michelins are the higher price by 200 dollars..The Goodyears and Bridgestones are very close in price.
I am curious about the Pole Position heard good things but would like some more info..
Thanx

They were great at first, but after about 9k miles they had very little grip left.. I just got a set of Nexen 3000's.. The whole set was under $600 installed. I think they are great so far.. the tread is much thicker and the tread pattern looks pretty nice! I went cheap because I might get 19's at some point, but I am very pleased with these so far.. quiet, and seem to grip awesome..

PS: When taking advice of others, make sure you keep in mind YOUR particular preferences. Some people just want a wide tire that keeps the rim from rubbing on the ground. Most people want a tire that is quiet, lasts a long time, and provides decent grip in all conditions. Others (like me) want a tire that won't croak when driven on a track at high speeds over lengthy periods of time. The PS2, for example, has thin tread depth, which means it won't last long, but it's much more trackworthy than a deep tread tire.

Here is what I think:
Bridgestone RE050A-PP: Soft compound and strong side wall, it's also quite heavy. So what you get is a very comfortable ride, good performance at curves, but heavier handling. Treads last until end of its life.
Michelin PS2: Light and strong compound. Like previous poster said, the tread is useless towards end of it life, so you'l end up changing them before you hit the tread indicator.
Both tires are asymetrical and non-directional with a center rib and wide grooves and variable sie blocks. So the tread designs are very similar.
I'm selling the car.... the S03's are indeed a bit loud at low speed (10-20mph) even though there are still plenty treads remaining (I think 5-7K of hard driving). My new E still has original contis (20-30% treads remaining after 16K... a strong evidence this car was quite babied by previous owner
).It will be couple months before I need a new set of tires.... but I would certainly consider RE050 given my experience w/ S03. We'll see...

I agree with all the oother posts, and that is DON"T BUY THE PS2
They are terriable!!!! I told the story before about my M being beaten by my Mustang because of the lousy PS2's.
Go for the GS-D3's YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!!
See yeah
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
It was horrible that even an older family member commented the car sounded broken.
PS2's fixed the sound isshe but yes the grip does go away with time.
My next set of tires will be the RE050A PP for sure. I hear great things about it.
With some mags this new PP is number one compared to a close Goodyear.
u can't go wrong w/ anyone of the 3 tires. here's a very good survey for u:

That's a dream to me -- and I've got an LS430. I have Dunlop Sport 5000's and I hit about 15k maaaaybe.
Edit: My dad had PS A/S's and he ran through them like butter -- and he's a very conservative driver.

There is always a price for perfrormance
Namely HIGH wear.
On my stang usual wear was about 7-8k, but this was EXTREME abuse.
Best tire on it were OLD Goodyear GSC's. They still make them, but they are not competative anymore.
12K for GREAT performance is a SMALL price to pay

can you say Tirerack.com
By the way, there are cheap tires out there that work good, ie kumoh's yok's, etc. All can be had for around $100 a tire.
As the old saying goes, speed is just a question of money, How fast do you want to go$$$$$$$
