I was having the exact same issue, to the tee. I recently replaced my turn signal bulbs with stealth bulbs. I noticed I have not seen that message since then. It might still pop up, but so far so good.

Well I was just implying that I changed my bulb period, and perhaps that was the issue. Apparently it wasnt But, the stealth bulbs from www.stealthauto.com are awesome. They are silver bulbs that light amber. Gives you the clear look, while staying legal. I was actually suprised what a nice difference they make in the stock taillights. Its subtle, but noticable. Perfectly clear now, and legal.

it was the actual wiring harness...there is a TSB for it, look in the c-class section for the number, take it to your dealer and they can tell you exactly what they do to it...i had this done over a year ago, so i don't remember all the details...

pull out all the bulbs, i had the same problem. the car automatically uses an alternate bulb so when you check from the back it looks like all your bulbs are working. just pop the panel out and pull the bulbs until you find the one thats burned out.
