Porting, Polishing, and Cams project
I was, but I just paid it off and after a second test drive of an E55, I figured I might as well hang on to it. It gets me from home to work and back home again, so why spend more $$ on something else. My son is only 18 months old, so it has all the room I need for him.
Wish us luck...I know there are others doing this too.

the numbers on those R.E.V. valves don't really mean anything to me since i don't know what the stock specs are...but i will probably just have mine cleaned up with maybe a 3-angle valve job...i am going to talk to a couple of local guys about my heads this week...
when are the cams supposed to arrive?

I know mine should be here Wednesday, did yours ship the time?
i don't know how much the lifters are...i will do some checking and let you know what i come up with...
i got my order in with yours...hopefully they will be here at the same time.
On a side note, I dropped by there yesterday to pick up the ECU (which I sent to renntech) and the SA asked "Do you want to see the car?" You should have seen the look on my face.
At any rate, the heads were off and they were removing the springs and going to clean everything up so Performance Engineering can pick them up today. I took a few minutes to look at everything, including the pistons, supercharger, heads, cams, surge tanks, etc. I must say that I'm impressed with the oil that MB uses in our cars. The heads were coated in oil, but there was no oil residue on any of the parts. The heads were smaller than I thought they were going to be and they seemed very restictive.I hope I get my car back soon, the C280 is starting to feel "quick".

i am at 106,000 miles right now...i don't know how long they are good for, but i know over time they tend to stretch and eventually break....it just makes sense for me to do it now so that i don't have to worry about it later...
did the dealership tell you anything about what kind of mileage to expect out of the timing chain?
the only time my has been at the stealership they were out of mercedes vehicles so they took me down and rented me something from enterprise...i got a trailblazer, talk about slow...lol

these specs are definitely more in line with what i was expecting to see...he gave me the specs for the C320 N/A motor Schrick cams just for comparison, which would not do anything for us at all...that would have been a huge disappointment after all of the work you are having done!
who's cams are these? (sorry didn't see this info in thread) do you (or anyone) have stock data for comparision?
