just made pulley and Ecu upgrade, few electronic issues show up!
yesterday I made the pulley/Ecu upgrade on my 2002 C32.
Results are cool, 383hp and 462nm, for an expense of €1.400,00 total.
The car's a blast but, this morning, it just "collapsed".
I don't think it's due to something related to the upgrade but I need your opinion: a few too many "warnings" showed up on the display: first the engine filter, then the Abs, then the Esp, then the C32 collapsed and it was not possible to turn it on again.
Since last saturday, days before the upgrade, on the display I read "cooling liquid low, go to assistance", I stopped in a petrol station and found out the cooling liquid level was perfect I still think what happened this morning was kind of "Ecu freaking out" for reasons I can't understand.
Now that I remember last november on the display I saw "ESP failure, go to assistance", and I wanted to, but when I turned the car ignited again there was no message left, and I didn't.
The man from official MB this morning told me that all these false alarms were somehow recorded in the car key, which probably needs to be resetted.
Guys I need your opinion. This morning I had the first warning half a mile after I left home, and when I had the others I never went over 2000rpm as well.
Don't really think it's about some mechanical issue, but since they are plugging the car to star diagnosis these moments I would like to know from you what I must expect to hear from MB official assistance.
Thanks for your help

I already know that the most difficult part of the job will be telling the MB official assistance guys "do not reset the engine mapping when you do your things to fix the freaking out of the ECU" without mentioning why........since somehow these guys would be more empathic to you if you steal in their house instead of upgrading pulley and ECU........
they told me "we have to replace the whole ECU unit to let the car start again"
according to them they can't do any star diagnosys to the car
they say it is doable only after replacing the whole ECU
and they blame the ECU remapping for that
but I don't get it
I mean, how can they say the ECU is remapped when they say they can't read the ECU with star diagnosys????????
On specific request of the tuner who made the ECU/pulley upgrade I sent the ECU back to him by express courier
Hopefully this dude will help out
In Italy you can rely on MB official assistance only if there is some minor parts to be replaced, just like air filters, I/C pump etc
When it comes to issues you must squeeze your mind to solve'em they just go for the most expensive solution over and over again in a "try and error" strategy
I'll keep you updated

Good to see posts from Italy, what a beautiful country! I also liked how people drive

The day I went there to take my C32 back he was working on two Murcielago Roadster, a F430 and a 997 Carrera 4S. That might be common in the US, but believe me it's sci-fi material in Italy (all those cars together in a tuner's garage). He used parts for the upgrade from his personal supplier, and remapped the ECU to maximise the output. I think €1.400,00 for a 30hp increase is a good deal for the money spent. The next step are the exhausts, according to this guy the C32 is somehow "choked" because of its stock exaust. He said we could hit 400hp mark working on that.
Can't wait!

Don't bother with any of the exhaust rear of the exhaust manifolds. If your tuner thinks the C32 is "choked" down due too the exhaust he is mistaken. Headers are the only exhaust mod that will gain you any power. The exhaust is fine beyond 450HP.
BTW a lot more of noise with a nice replacemente of the terminal part of the exausts (the twin pipe with ///AMG tag) would be very nice as well........as long as police don't stop me for excessive noise!
