Talking Dropped It Like It's Hot!!!

Finally got the coilovers on today. Looks a lot better to me. Might go even lower in a week or so. What do you guys think??? Hopefully get my euro impact strips on tomorrow along with the clear mirror blinkers...

Lowering a car can truly transform its looks. Basically, the car's relationship with the ground has a lot to do with its perceived length and width. My old A6 looked HOT when lowered around fat tires. At "stock" height, it looked like any old dude's car.

I get my H&R springs installed Monday. Can't wait.

Nationsfinest - that looks fantastic! What wheel/tire combo have you got on the car?

Fifth - are you going with the H&R springs that are advertised for the C32 or are you going with a different set of rears (that was discussed in a recent thread)?

just make sure and set the ride height correctly and if you're like me corner balance the car or have it handle like **** but most of the people on here wouldn't notice.

I called H&R's main office and spoke with a rep, conveying my concerns that the rears were to short and mucked up the camber. He seemed not to know what I referred to. But just in case, I picked up a set of MB's tallest spring shims for the rear and will have those installed with the H&R springs. As you probably know, ride height is a secondary concern to me (handling being primary) and I actually like the rear ride height as is. I'll report on Monday. If the rears are too low (even w/ the big shims) and handling affected, I'll be all over H&R to replace the rears. The part number the other C32 owner gave me is for the C class wagon, which makes sense.

Looks great, though going even lower may look a bit odd, in my opinion.

What were the tallest ones that MB had? I used #4 pads on the back and I still wish the rear was taller. I'm considering switching springs just to raise the back some more.

Yeah, I got the #4 pads. If it's too low, I'm going to be pissed. At least I have a record of my discussion with them.

There's an earlier thread that gives the actual part number for the taller springs. It's the spring for the C class wagon.

Thanks guys. I have the TSW Thruxton's 19" x 8.5" on the front and 19" x 9.5" on the back. All are 35mm offset. The tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 235/35/19 for the front and 265/30/19 for the back. No spacers needed and they clear the big brakes.
I have the BiXenon's but just haven't installed them yet. Trying to figure out which flat hood emblem that I want. One of the AMG ones for sure.
