Rusty rear calipers
The front calipers on my 2003 C32 AMG has the usual glossy silver paint finish, and look great. The rears have turned bronze with rust and look really awful.
I asked my dealer to take a look whilst it was with them on Friday (for a new intercooler pump) and said the calipers aren't painted and so they would expect the rust, and suggested that I repaint them.
In my view they're not acceptablem and plan to take it further.
Anyone else had the same problem? Managed to get a replacement under warranty? Or are yours still looking good? All comments appreciated.

I just finished doing my brake pads 10 minutes ago, and thought how ugly the rear calipers were myself. But I am just going to paint them to mach the fronts.

Any advice on how to refinish the front calipers? Previous owner/dealer has attempted to put wrong wheels and my front calipers have scratches right over the AMG logo. The paint seems to have a gloss finish on top. Has anyone refinish the front calipers, how did you paint the AMG logo?
Thanks
Thanks

I like to think that I have a really good relationship with my dealer, and I don't plan to change that. I've made sure that the team at the dealership, their board of directors, and the the Customer Services Director at MB UK Head Office know I appreciate their good service.
However I'm keen to explore whether mine are particularly bad, or par-for-the-course. I plan to get a photo later (if it brightens up out there), and I'll post it so you guys can compare with your own.
If worst comes to the worst I could paint them, although I'd rather have a fresh original finish than a re-painted finish given the choice.

Thats the way they are. Personally I would choose my battles more wisely with the dealership, especially with this car. Pop off the rear wheels, clean up the caliper good with a wire brush, then use a caliper paint and make them look nice.

My calipers look like crap as well (rears). I brought it up a few times in the past at the dealer asking if they thought it was normal for them to rust after (at the time) just 2 years. They said, "Yup".
As mentioned. Pick your battles and just paint them yourself. Its easy, cheap, and only takes a few minutes.
