Brakes/Rotor Replacement for C32's

Tried looking, but couldn't find a thread on a do-it-yourself brake job for C32's. Wondering if someone can help me out with some instructions. I'd like to eventually replace pads and rotors, but for now just want to do pads. How easy is this job? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I just did front rotor/brake pad/brake lines replacement on both my C32 and ML500 (literally 3 days ago). This link is from the ML (163) Forum, but the procedures are 98% identical. Try it out, it worked for me.

If you've done pads before, it's really easy. Once the clip is off (see post above) the slip out the back. The tricky part (as with any pad replacement) is getting the pistons retracted so the new pad slips in.

PS: I have to put in a plug for EBC RedStuff Ceramic pads. I'm on my second set and they've taken enormous abuse without fading or deteriorating.

Ok thanks. Maybe I'll give EBC a try instead of Porterfields.

Hi,

I haven't been on here in a really long time because I haven't used my C32 at all but I am back as I am either going to mod it up big time or sell it.

Anyways here is a thread with procedures for changing brake pads from a while back. If you have the C32 it should still hold. I plan on changing mine soon too. I have always been partial to the R4E's but they do squeak a good amount when it is cold.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/77203-replacing-brake-pads.html

Hope that helps.

Pistons shooting out? No. Just follow the steps laid out in the link from Prasith32. I did it and everything worked out great.

Only the W211 E55's have the electronic pump that you MUST disable or indeed the pistons will shoot out. C's don't have this problem my friend.

As was stated above, if you EVER plan on tracking her, the EBC redstuff are the cats meow

Ceramic to boot, aka NO dust, okay very little.

See yeah
