Can we PLEASE split the forums into c32 and c55 forums?????

Let's do this! It would make it easier for the relevant owners to search and discuss issues that are based on their model. The E55 forum has done it. Let's do it as well. PLEASE!

The E forum split was for two different generations. The 32 and 55 are both W203s. They are so similar that I don't see the point.

Mainly because I and probably most 55 owners are only interested in discussions for the most part about our cars. This forum although arguably the best for 55's (unless some can point me somewhere else) is mainly 32 posts that have nothing to do with our cars. It would be nice not to have to sift through all of the irrelevant dictum.

Downside is that the only irrelevant dicta is about the engines. The rest of the discussion crosses over. Besides, us C32 owners make the C55 owners feel so much better when we post about our intercooler pumps!

There are really countless differences other than the brakes. It would be nice not to have to sift through any of it is my point. I would much prefer not to have to read about any maintenance issues that don't impact me FWIW.

Lots more similarities than differences (such as the identical brakes). I wouldn't want to miss out on the DIYs and wisdom that C55 owners offer on the things that are the same. I seriously think it would make each forum less useful. Just my 3.2 cents.

Maybe there is a way to maintain a single forum but allow a user to filter?

Interesting. As a C32 owner I think it's a better forum for having both derivatives together. Is there really that much to sift?

I vote keep 'em together!!

I think this forum is less active (half the activity) than the the E-AMG forum so it might not warrant a split.

I was about to say the same thing, this forum isn't all that active of a forum, don't see why it's such a big deal to sift through a few extra items. My motorcycle forum is way more active.

I agree to some extent....

Clearly 95% of the posts are C32 driven, but some...some...apply to the 55. I had/have both a 32 and 55. When I had the 32 this forum was great, but with the 55 it is tuff to narrow down the 55 specific things i.e. chips (few posts on the 55, ton on the 32), suspension (does the weight of the 55 weigh down what works on the 32??), pulleys (differnent application all together with the sc), etc.

So, I love the 32 posts with sooo much more info, but it is tuff to find only 55 stuff....maybe that there is not many 55 owners posting and messing with their rides?

More 32 stuff than 55 because the 55 is fewer and newer. Many of the people modding are second owners, so the 32 is a natural to have more posts.

this is just like splitting the E55 and E63 or CLK55 and CLK63 forums.

be glad we are not mixed with the C36 and C43 forums

It could be filtered if the moderators could find a way to put a C32 icon and a C55 icon on the bottom of the New Thread screen. I added a Caution sign to this post as an example.

I say keep em intact. They are W203 and there's no reason to split it. We don't need to cater to this kind of request just because someone is too lazy to filter the threads and needs to be spoonfed. What's next ? Split the forums into "C32 newbies saying hi, these are my stock pics" and "C32 owners need extended warranty info" ?

Well I didn't want to come off as an *** or anything. I'm not lazy, I just give a **** about any c32's one way or another and there should be a seperate section as they c55 is grossly different than a 32. Come on you all know it is Don't hate!

Case in point- there is a seperate black forum for the clk63 black than the clk63. Honestly I have ZERO interest in anything c32 related.

I also think there should likewise be a seperate c63 forum

well our cars share a lot of the same parts...only major thing different is the engine...

the C36 and C43 share the same forum.

there will be a separate forum for the C63, the W204 AMG forum.

LOL @ first part.

There will be a seperate W204 forum (err, there is now) and there will be a seperate W204 AMG forum.

I do not see C32 and C55 being split unless activity skyrockets for either model which will warrent a split.

Sean, as mentioned above, you'll find that the C55 and C32 share many of the same components. Though you might not realize right this moment, reading through some of the C32 posts will help you solve issues later on. If the forums were split you would never see those posts that you currently don't care for. I know it has helped me in more than one instance.

Don't hate the C32s just because there aren't many active C55 members. A C55 section would be awful quiet. The only significant things C55 specific are engine mods.

Maybe, before we split, we go to counseling and see if we can find common ground, like brakes, wheels, tires, steering and electronics.

Maybe a trial separation.

+1, as it is there is not enough ppl on the C32/55 form so a split will just limit the visibility even more

Let this end the thread.

A quick review of 50 threads shows:

16 would only be of interest to C32 owners (32%)

6 would only be of interest to C55 owners (12%)

28 would be of interest to either C32 or C55 owners (56%)

===========================================

So, to a C32 owner, it is 88% relevant and to a C55 owner it is 66% relevant. A forum that is no worse than 66% relevant is pretty damn relevant.

Consider that various topics do not interest to people. I could care less about headlights, or nav systems. So I don't read those threads.
