POLL: suspension lowering springs.. which to purchase (HELP)?
i wanted to get a little drop on my w209 clk55 amg without needing to change all the components of the suspension. I think the springs for the w203 and w209 are very similar. thats why im posting here as well. from my understanding, lorinser, brabus, renntech, kleemann, and carlsson springs lower the car without changing the shocks or sway bars.
Which one do you guys recommend?

It gives you more of a stock lowering look (more evenly).
H&Rs lower the rear too much for my taste.
If you come down to those two, keep in mind that H&Rs are half the price of the Renntechs.
As to the shims, Benz offers a series of shims (basically spring perches) for the rear of our car that allow you to make permanent adjustment to final ride height. The tallest shim is called #4, and with H&R springs, the car will look best with the #4 shim. It's a $20 part.
PS: I clicked "Renntech" on the survey just so I could see the results. As noted, I'm fine with the H&R Sport Springs.

Some aftermarket springs are OEM color, and a dealer tech might not even notice that they were changed. But if they did notice, and you brought the car in for a problem in the suspension, it's conceivable that they could deny coverage. It's a tough argument for them to make, though, that lower/firmer springs would contribute to a component failure. It depends on dealerships; some of them seems militant about this issue. Overall, I think it is a relatively low risk.
the RENNtech springs is black and has absolutely no marking at all which is also perfect if you are worry about warranty issue. it does cost the most however.

make sure you remove the spring pad in the rear, unless you get PSS9's or Carlsson Coilovers

that is what i am running, love them...

Anyone know of a professional photographer down here in Miami?
