C32 did not Start (No electrical power)

This is the 2nd time in the last 3 months I have tried to start the car and no electrical current available.

The first time, I jumped the car battery and unplugged my drivers side seat module and everything was ok. I knew it was the seat problem.

This time the car sat in the garage for 3 days and it would not start. I jumped the car battery and unplugged the passenger seat module. But I'm not sure if that is causing the problem.

Anybody has a guess what else can be drawing current from the battery?

I'm driving with a car that can move the front seats unless I plug in the seat modules. I just love all the electrical issues with this car.

From is my experience, unplugging the seat modules was not sufficient. My car will literally die every morning.

The symptons:

1) Nav CD kept spinning even when the car turned off.

2) Seats were not in the correct position when entering the car after a while.

3) A bunch of electrical malfunctions after each jumped start. The rear sam blew up by jumped starting the car too many times.

I ended up replacing both seat modules, the rear sam and a new battery to fix the problem. It's been over a year and no problem so far.

Good luck.

Did you change ur alternator recently? Did you get any alternator error msgs on ur display? Mine just went out all of a sudden on the same day it started complaining about the alternator, the car completely lost power!! I had to tow it on a flat bed after dinner on a Saturday night to the dealership!! They replaced the alternator which seemed to put power back to the car! I also have the seats unplugged but I probably put a lot of stress on the alternator in the past from the multiple times I had to jump-start the car before I figured it was the seats causing the battery drain. You might have a fried alternator if you had to do multiple jump-starts to the your car in the past as well!

I've had both seat modules go within 3 months of each other, now I just drive around with them unplugged, symptoms were similar but it's fine now (as long as I don't need to move the seats!)

I guess this is stating the obvious, but with your car being 5+ years old and 7x,xxx miles, are you sure you haven't just reached the end of the battery's useful life?

The rear SAM is basically the fuse box in the trunk. PN: 203-545-34-01.

I had to replace it because I jumped started the car too many times.

If you change the battery w/o fixing the problem, the car will be fine for 2-3 weeks max. Then the problem will come back. I would start by replacing the seat control module that has the current draw.

Is this an easy DIY? can the SAM and seat modules be changed without any complicated tools?

According to my receipt, the rear sam needs to be programmed.

I think the modules can be replaced w/o a problem. PM the guru Sunman to make sure.

No problem man. It took me forever to figure this out. The dealerships are so incompetent and have no clue when it comes to diagnose a problem.

Hope you can get your issues taken care of soon.

Just to emphasize the warning, there's a known problem that if have your keys in the ignition when you connect another car/battery to jump start the car it blows the rear SAM
