Unlikely hero...
Well I was unscrewing the screws for the air-filter box when as I am sure it happened to most a screw fell down in the engine bay and before long a second, third well I couldn't leave 3 screws alone so I decided to try a similar looking screw in this case a deck screw and to my surprise it fit perfectly........what a life saver! I threw 4 spares in my trunk.

I have a few mods I am gonna post by friday night or over the weekend. Stay tuned. Have a few things needed to get installed first. By the way it was FrankW pic sig that got me to paint them...so in a few days they will be fully shown with the other stuff I updated ok.

Not exactly sure but it looks about 1 and a half inch to me. Was thinking of painting the head red to match the airbox what you think
? If it looks fine I will change them all. Can you believe a MB dealer I went to told me the screws aren't sold seperately that the entire right or left airbow had to be purchased...

Looks like the screw head is slightly different, but as long as it works, it works. If you wanted to match one up exactly, I bet you could swap out one more of the MB screws w/ one of your spares, take the MB screw to Home Depot and find an exact match...

Its good to have forum friends that offer spare parts to others but in this case I think I might actually stay with the inexpensive deck screws but don't 4 get the OEM FILTERS you are letting me use for one of the runs I definitely need those. Cleaning the K&N and GREENS 2nite to have ready by Saturday. Even thought the Greens still look relatively like fresh after seeing them last night.
