I think the major price drop has already happened. First one happens when the car is new & taken off the lot, the 2cd one happened over the past year when they became a couple years old & 1st owners started to trade/sell them for other cars. Including ones on the waiting list for C63's.

You might have another drop once the C63 is actually available, & the last few owners waiting for one sell, but I think that one will be fairly small. It's already taken the big hit.

I don't think you'll find a low mileage one in excellent condition fully equipped for $25K if that's what your thinking. The lowest one of those might go for the next few years is $40K.

these cars are dirt cheap in the states. you'd be lucky to find one under $50k here and our dollar is at par!

One recurring problem

One recurring problem with these cars is that the back tires wear out too fast.

First off 26K miles is not low in my book for a 3 year old car 12K or less is low. Secondly what is the condition of the exterior and interior? Third does the car have a clean record? Lastly what color is the car?

Funny, I wonder why... I think it has something to do with the right foot of the driver. Mine have lasted less than 10k a set.

2005 C55
The milage on the back tires suck. Maybe its all the time they spent smokin from the dig or going sideways. The big price hit already happened. It cost about a $1 a mile in depreciation to own one from new. Figure about 40k-45k for a used one. But it's kick *** to drive and if you debadge it, it's a total sleeper. Still thinking of a C63 or used CLS63/55. With all that said...buy a used CPO MBZ and save the money for mods.

Yes
I agree...the big hit already happened. No way youre going to see 05/06 C55's going for $20k.

Just look at the C32 for a good example. The 55 came out rendering it an old model. Look at an 03 C55, and thats a good indication of what your 05 C55 will be worth in 09.

C55
The C55 is in a great place right now. Compared to the C63 (and even the M3 sedan) which aren't out yet, it will offer similar performance at half the price. Of course, extra horsepower and a new model design would be nice, but for the money, I can't see another car in this class that compares to it. Many are coming off lease and you should be able to pick one up with an extended warranty. I was almost certain I was going to drive away in a new 335, but drove a C55 and it was all down hill from there... I've had my car for a few months now and we love it. The only thing I hate about it so far are the tires (Pirelli's). Best of luck and happy hunting!

I have been looking at the C55 prices for a while now and $40-45K is nowhere near where they are actually priced. There are some dealers out there counting on the uneducated sucker to pay these prices but actual pricing for superb cars, well equiped, with below average mileage is in the mid 30's right now. A GREAT deal and I think that as soon as the C63 lands there will be another yet small dive in prices. It will be a while before these cars are in the mid to high 20's for a decent example and by then they will be well out of warranty.

BMW 325CI,
Well if they are in the mid thirtys i don't mind as long they have resonable mileage and are in good condition.

O and about the tires is it a real big issue or is it just cuz its a rear wheel drive car + 369hp.

The car is silver and looks clean. I don't know about the record.
