Phenolic spacer gasket #

Okay guys, who installed phenolic spacers on the air boxes, and what part number gasket did you use? I beleive it is 112-098-60-80. Is this correct?
I got the spacers for free, long story so I figure what the heck, even though I DON'T believe they will do a thing for performance, they can't hurt, I guess
Thanks in advance

See yeah

I used 112 098 00 80. EPC confirms it's still the correct number.

Thanks splinter:

Me bad , I couldn't read the MB techs hand writing, it does say 112-098-00-80.

see yeah

PS: Did you have to use any spacers, longer bolts, etc, etc?

Used the aforementioned gaskets when I R&R’d the surge tanks. I pulled them off to clean their blow-by residue, and verify (lack of, fortunately) glycol contamination.

LET, Code3, and Evo all offer heat-attenuating spacers. Sorry that I can’t be of any help with your forthcoming installation. Kindly let us know how like them and if they do, in fact, materially reduce IATs.

you can use the stock bolts...the key to prevent warping of the intake plenums is to tighten up the 4 bolts on top of the intake plenum first! then just snug up the two outside bolts, DO NOT TORQUE THESE DOWN! i have never used any spacers on mine and have never had any problems with leaks or warping even after having them off the car multiple times...

hope this helps...

I have heard rumors that you need spacers on the outside bolts to prevent warpage. Again, THANKS E!!

Hey 1FASTC32:

Nothing yet, I am waiting for the wife to go to europe, around the end of the month and will be doing a pulley upgrade "Secret", Code3's HE, and the spacers then. There is NO dyno in Pittsburgh, so I will be using my own G-tech to check 0-60, and 1/4 mile times.

I will let you know, PM, in early December my friend.

See yeah
