Resonator Delete & MPG
Did you guys notice a loss in MPG when you had your resonator removed?
I've lost between 2-3 mpg after this mod; 9-11 city / 17-19 highway.
Or was it just me liking the sound to much!? Seriously, this was not expected.

no losses here. BTW thats pretty crappy MPG on the HWY. I'm getting around 24.5 @ 65MPH. Check you air filters. That can lower them if they are dirty. It might just be your right foot too!

The car currently has 101,000 miles. The green filters (55 airboxes) were cleaned about 4K miles ago. Plugs have never been changed, going for the LET ones next month.
Something is definitely wrong with the car. The only time I've seen single digit mpg was my first and only time at a track.

That's about where I was... I don't drive the car like I stole it, but I wasn't concerned about mpg's either.

As stupid as it sounds, I changed the fule filter in my Taurus, thats right a lousy little Taurus, and it picked up almost 2 miles to the gallon. It made NO sense to me, but it worked, oh yeah, after about 60,000 miles. I would try it, as a cheap fix if yours is original.
Plugs, might help, if they are TRUELY bad, and of course, check your ECU for error codes, Autozone does this for free in PA.
Good luck, and I hope it helps

OK so this morning I turned on the car and the mpg goes south almost .1gl/s. I know it's an average computer calculation but I'm on my 3rd year owning the car and I've never seen this before... MPG: 10.5, 10.4... 9.1. Something is definetely wrong.
Can the fuel tank itself lose pressure? Can this be a sign of a fuel pump failure?
Erick - PM sent.

No it wont be the fuel tank or the pump. The fuel pump creates vacuum pressure in the tank. if the tank was leaking, the most common leak would be from the rubber seal on the gas cap. That would usually result with a CEL regarding a small/large vacuum leak. If the fuel pump were going bad, you would either not be able to fire up the car, or not be able to keep it running for long.
Do the Fuel filter first and only after, run some fuel system cleaner in it, other wise your waisting the cleaner on cleaning out the filter and not the motor as much. It really doesn't matter what brand you use, as most of them all do the same job. I personally like using Seafoam (NOT REGULARLY). As upkeep, the best bang for your buck will be Lucas in the 32oz bottle. ( 1 32oz costs as much as 2 5.25oz bottles) Big savings!
However I don't run any cleaners as I tend to run 101 in my car most of the time to keep her purrrring!

Thanks for the feedback calimax. The car is running really strong and linear, it doesn't feel it is the pump. What really suprises me it's this happening right after I removed the resonator. I already called the exhaust shop and made an appointment for this Saturday. I double checking everything.

No prob. Your running Renntech software right? Pulleys too? Has your car's ECU been reset by the dealer due to any services after the Renntech install/tune? You could check out your A/F ratio to be sure your not running excessively rich. Good luck!

Yeah the lazy way to find out is to see if stand a few feet behind your car and see if your exhaust smells like fuel. I remember this guy I knew had an SRT-4 that was running really rich and it smelled like a gas station.

I just wanted to report back on this.
This past weekend I disconnected the battery for a couple of hours while doing an oil and air filters change.
The greens were snugged out of place all the way into the Y-splitter. After I cleaned them, I tried to make them fit but it was impossible. In my conclusion, the "reusable" filters won't last over one clean up. I had to call Erick and get a pair of new K&N's from his stock. He drop them off 30 minutes later.
Right now, the car is back to normal. MPGs are in the expected range: 12-15 city / 20-22 highway. The ECU read strange behavior after the deletion of the resonator and throwing back wrong data. Also, the out-of-place dirty filters might've been a cause for the decrease in fuel economy.
Thanks for all the feedback.
