This seems like a win-win-win solution.
Good to see you back on...

Gotta hand it to you guys, nice work there! I really dig that brace/crossmember setup there supporting the turbos. I can't wait to see what's next!

For those of you concerned with the remote mount turbos, just look up STS turbo on youtube or videostreetfire. There isn't any more lag than a traditional turbo setup. The turbine housings are sized appropriately (generally tighter) to keep spool time at a minimum.

Even Ken Duttweiler praises the concept of the remote turbo. If you don't know who he is then you should research more before laying claims that a remote mount turbo will be very "laggy".

if you like the brace now, just wait til you see the final product...this is just for the mock-up of the proto-type...

as these other guys have already stated, turbo lag will not be an issue...it is all about the turbo sizing, there is a science that goes into choosing the right turbo for the correct application...we have done our home work

How do you say dual Mitsu 16g 7cm setup!

They work great as an upgrade on the 3.0L TT V6 on the 3000gt VR4 don't see why they would not wrk just as well on the 3.2L AMG V6. Nice! Car should end up being a BRUTE!!!

Will there be an option to use any turbo you want like dual Garrett GT BB turbo's for instance?

Hi guys, i figure just to post in as i am opting for the same project

I am located in Malaysia actually, we have right hand drive here, and i have a M112 motor 2.6l on my E class. I am actually also working to turbocharge the unit

i already have 2 units of IHI ball bearing turbos capable of 200hp each , 400hp total as my motor is just.. u know 2.6l . IHI turbos are chosen because they are smaller in diameter "although longer in length".

Originally this vehicle is running on MAF and IAT .. so i opted for a piggy back management from powermod "http://www.powermod.com.au" which i think is autronic based, it reads crank angle sensor and uses that to modify ignition timing/read rpm, btw this ecu is capable of tuning can based vehicle like the rx-8 which is another vehicle i have, also it has a built in 22psi map sensor and capable of adding a external map sensor if you need more. This ecu can tune with TPS or MAP, so obviously i won't be using tps but map. Now the track is where to i get the manifold pressure readings from. I will be wiring this to my car this week.

As for the turbo project.

I plan to go simple, E class has more space then C does, but the pain in the *** is the steering shaft blocking , though we see enough space at that location. Instead of a whole manifold, i plan to make a adaptor for the turbo, making the turbo low mount. Now the trick is Oil Return and weather the turbo heat will effect anything else. As for intercooler, there is enough space for a front mount air-air Greddy intercooler, i don't know what size, but its the stock unit for the Rx-8 greddy turbo kit.

I plan to make this simple, and run it low boost, probably at 0.35 ~ 0.4 bar. This car has stock 177flywheel hp and its just 140 hp on the wheels, so its pain in the ***, the low end torque is good but high end powerband is bad so i guess the turbo makes up for this. i am looking at 220~230hp on wheels which i will be quite happy at when kleemann claims they have 260 on flywheel on their s/c setup.

Hope to get some lesson from u guys in the usa as well.

there will be several options with this kit, that will be one of them, although i don't think it would gain much in the way of spool over the current setup and it will be an expensive upgrade...

SRT 6
The SRT6 does not have a spare tire well...will this kit still work with it?
I am assuming that there is enough room underneath to mount both turbos, like where the resonator used to be. I hope I am not jumping too far forward...keep the info coming. I love this project!!

...I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Later,
KrzyFast

Well, by the way there is 4 catalytics and i had removed 2, the top 2, which helps to make space for the turbo as well. using custom random technology 100cpsi cats for the bottom 2 .

will keep u guys posted and photos :P

there's no way you can go catless in california. Ticket for running no cat in california is like $3000. help the environment out a little and keep the cats.

that is the beauty of this kit, you can leave all 4 cats in the place and still get great power out of your car...

i am using a boost controller solenoid to control, as there is input for this in my ecu . i can also adjust at which rpm/which gear and how many % of boost.
