NEXEN tires... N7000 opinions

hey guys i did the typical search and found some feedback on the Nexen tires but mainly on the n3000 and a little on the n7000 but in the E55 forum.

just curious if anyone with a C55/C32 has bought these (cheaper tires) and what they thought. i'm looking for something after the winter and i dont really wanna spend too much b/c im going to upgrade my wheels late spring.

Here in Korea (where Nexen's are made) Kumho's and Hankook tires are the most popular among sports drivers in general.

Although we also have alot of folks that swear by the PS2's as well.

Nexen just really doens't get noticed here becuase their history of manufacturing high performance tires is not that long.
(Nexen's being primarily being peddled through a low-bucks tire outfit doesn't really help their image as well.)

Of note...Nexen used to make Michelin tires here in Korea during the 90's through a joint venture with Michelin.

So...if you want inexpensive tires then maybe you should try Hankook or Kumho's instead.

i've used kuhmo's in the past. There the best bang for your buck. They just usually have a lot of road noise after you drive on them for awhile.

I took the Nitto Invos to a track day last year and they were never the same again. I get enough road noise now to irritate me to no end.

i know the kuhmos started to have a lot of road noise after 5000-8000 miles but they lasted another 35000 miles after that. At $60 a tire i couldnt really complain.

they were pretty good in the wet, ok in the dry.

What size on the rear wheels? Nitto Invo doesn't come in 265 and I'm reluctant to use 255.

I just want to make sure I'm reading this properly, your Kumho's lasted over 40,000 miles? Which Kumho's? ECSTA MX? Thanks

just to make the it clear, the kumho's that lasted 45,000miles were for my civic. So it was fwd drive car where i can route the tire about every 7-10,000 miles. Being able to route the tires does a lot to help with the longevity of the tire. So that number wouldn't apply to rwd cars since the tires are different sizes and you cannot route the tires.

Considering i only spent $240 for all four tires and they lasted around 3yrs, i would say there were a good bang for your buck.

i had the kumho 711's. I believed there discontinued, i think the replacement reduced some of the road noise, but i believe it lost some of its handling in the dry.

I use 225/40ZR18 front and 255/35ZR18 rear.
