Lightbulb Feeler: DTM Flat Bottom Steering Wheel

Hey all 4 spoke steering wheel w203 owners...

Want to see how many people might be interested in setting up a group buy on this steering wheel built on authentic OEM steering wheel. It's the best I've seen out there and he's offering a great deal if we can get 10-15 people.

Retail: $699 plus shipping
10-15 people: $450 plus shipping and core return

It's not set yet. I'm waiting for a MBWORLD moderator to approve my request.

Please reply if you are 100% interested.

Found a manufacterer selling a one-off and I've been talking with them about mass producing them because its the BEST steering wheel I've ever seen for the w203. Better than F1 Medical steering wheel. I'm getting more info about the company and where they are located.

Insert on the top are Alcantara.
I'm checking to see if they can make it in "ash" too

Add your name to the list if you will want to buy one at this price.
Again it's not finalized yet.

If the mods want to run the group buy through a sponsor as normal, then I'll do it.

This is the same guy selling it on ebay right?

From ebay:

"We need your stock steering wheel! Simply send your stock steering wheel back to us* and we will refund you $100** for your stock steering wheel!!"

So we have to pay $550 then he will refund the $100?

Yes. That's the guy.
Just got approval from a moderator on the group buy.

I believe he's doing $450 including core so I'm guessing all we have to pay os the $450. 1/2 deposit up front. I'm still discussing the details with DCT Motorsport.

I'll post this on the Group Buy forums. Look for it there.

I don't think C55s come with 4-spoke steering wheels, do they?

The steering wheel how-to is here:

I'd be interested sometime this summer after the "economic stimulus checks" come in the mail

But not until then.

We don't lose steering wheel button functionality do we?

C55's have paddle shifters on the unit too right? Sorry, this Group buy is for 4 spoke w203 owners. Sure they will develop one for the C55 in the future.

Flush: Thanks for the DIY link, Vey useful!

I'm using my tax refund on this one too!!! =)

Those functions are actually on the airbag.

Will this fit in the SLK32? If so, I'd do it.

All the details are being finalized today.

They can build the wheel in "ASH" or "Charcoal" as well but will need your cores first if you have Ash. They have 5 charcoal cores already. I'm getting info on turn around time.

The actual Group Buy thread will be in the "Group Buy" section as soon as I have all the details.

I'm sure you can send them the steering wheel and they can do the same wrapping for it. I don't see how this can be limited to only the W203 4-spoke steering wheel. BUT if you are asking if THAT particular steering wheel posted...it is for the W203 4-spoke only.

They can do W208 & w210 wheels. Let me look into it.

Please sign up at the actual Thread now in the Group Buy section.

Is there any way to incorporate cf? Maybe where the alcantara is + the bottom center part in between the perforated leather?
Either way I think the stitches have to be in black.

This is what I meant by the cf insert. Ebay link.

But I think the top is too much, I'd prefer having just a little bit of cf. That's why if the alcantara could be replaced by cf, it would be perfect.
But I like the bottom part of the ebay steering wheel.
In black cf of course.
