Anyone know where I can get a good one on line? If not the dealer has them for $45.00. I just want the chrome one that says AMG at the bottom.

Don't buy it from the dealer, they are way too over-priced. If you like carbon fiber, I bought mine from e-bay at a really good price. Normal price was $80 to $90 but guy had them on a special discount in December for $45. I think right now he is offering them for $60. Yes, these are full carbon fiber license plate holders. Mine gave me an additional 0.2 second improvement in the 1/4 mile

If you don't want the carbon fiber, I think the chrome ones are also sold on e-bay for half price ($25).

$45 is definitely very high for the standard chrome ones. On e-bay, those standard chrome ones are selling anywhere from $8 to $20 which makes one realizes how much the stealership tries to rob from us

Just to clarify, there are some on ebay for $5, and you'll get exactly that --- a $5 piece of crap. There are others for $15, which are about the same junky quality.
Be sure to look at the detail on each, as there are many knockoffs out there.

I bought the MB factory version of the AMG chrome holder, and paid about $42 shipped. I didn't want the cheap versions, and I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber look for anything of my own (just my personal preference).

Yes, the very cheap ones are really crappy quality, but the ones that were around $25 were identical to the ones you linked to. However, my local dealership was selling those chrome ones for $37 but I ended up buying them from e-bay for $25. Yes, they were exact same ones. In my opinion, if you're buying ones from e-bay for $42, then it's not worth it to go through e-bay at all. You should just go buy it instantly at your local dealership for $40 to $45.

The general appearance doesn't "look" cheap, but it's apparently a knock-off per the packaging, so I'd wonder about the overall quality and durability. However, it might be perfectly okay. Worse case scenario you're out $28.
I noticed it doesn't indicate whether it comes with the mounting hardware and bolt covers like the factory MB OE version does. That was a nice advantage to the one I bought.
By purchasing it on ebay I saved on the tax, so the $42 total I paid still saved me a little over the dealership cost.

Anyway, we're probably making too big of a deal out of such a simple post. I'm sure you'd be just fine w/ the one in the link you sent. It'll be far better than not having one at all, right?

They look okay, but I would wait and look around for more choices. That seller has too many negatives in the past month, which is a big no no....

Good catch on the neg feedback. Believe it or not I never use Ebay and did not even notice that.
