Another ticking noise..

My car seems to be having lots of ticking noises...

So i just got my previous ticking noise problem fixed, but now there's another ticking noise.

When I drive pass 50km, there is a weird ticking noise coming from driver rear wheel. The ticking noise increases as the speed adds up. I was unable to hear it from outside when I have my windows opened...

What would the problem be?

Check to see if there is anything stuck to your drive wheel, or if there is a nail puncture into your tire.

Maybe a wheel bearing problem?

Weird.. after a few days this noise just dissappeared.
Still can't figure out what it was.

OK I got one similar to what he described, only mine happens at lower speed and won't go away.
These are the characteristics:

1. Ticking noise only happens at the end of the trip after the engine warms up, or during warm sunny days. Never happened in the morning when I leave for work.

2. The frequency of the ticking goes along with speed, and it seems to blur with the sound of the engine past 20mph. But at a lower speed, for example when I drive in to my garage I can hear the ticking clearly. The noise itself is not loud, but defined. I can't hear them with the windows open.

3. No ticking at all when the engine is at idle.

4. It comes from the passanger side and I'm almost sure it's from the front.

Does anyone have this problem too or know how to fix this? Thanks.

I have this ticking sound too; you've done a much better job at describing it! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to take care of it. I just dropped the car off at the stealer for this issue among others, so if they find the cause I'll share it.

Sorry, guys, I wish I could offer more insight but the dealer had no idea and didn't really acknowledge that it was still there. I eventually just resigned myself to the idea that it was simply a part of that engine, but I just sold the car this weekend so it isn't an issue for me any more :/

i have it.....i think it is something rubbing on the drive shaft or loose heat shield material underneath the car hitting it.

Sounds like a good diagnosis here. I had this issue (not under warranty) about 1.5 years ago. It is a very expensive part and leaving it be could be dangerous. My SA said that the material can actually catch fire if it is left alone, rubbing the drive shaft. The cheap fix was to cut away the offending piece of material and all was good again.
