Caliper Problem - PICS

Hey Guys,

Been raining the last few days. Today had the window rolled down and I heard some rubbing coming from the front left, stopped to check it out, and something has happened to the caliper. Looks like a piece of metal is sticking down, making contact with the wheel itself, and carving into the wheel.. Whats everyone opinon on what happened?

Seems that the back half of it is loose
Remove the wheel to inspect it a little further b/f you damage the wheel & or the caliper.

Looking at it again it looks like the hole of which the pin that holds the pads in place which is a bracket.

looks like the pin that holds the brake pad came loose and one of the pads have fallen out and is rubbing on the wheel.

Having just replaced my own pads and rotors the other day, I concur. The pin worked its way out and what you are seeing is the tab on the pad itself. You need to get this taken care of right away. I'd just go to your local dealer for that pin.

yeah, i'd pickup the whole lot. 2 pins and the retainer clip. Depending on cost, I'd be paranoid enough to buy one set for each side.

Yes. I would drive ANOTHER car to the dealer. You can do some damage and maybe lose braking.

probably get a set of new pads too. They've probably been worn unevenly and would at the very least have a groove from the outer lip of the brake rotor.

The good thing is that it's a really easy DIY with inexpensive parts.

Any dealer should have these in stock.

Found the pins online at http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...3-1716469.html

Where can I find the retainer Clip?
