Why Is Renntech the only company to have an air box for the C55? rather than use a e55 modded box but one made for the C55 . And Why Is it in a box rather than just cone filters a pipes? There seems to be Benz tuners popping up, (other than Kleemann, Renntech, Brabus, and lorinsor) Tuners like LET, EVOsport, VRP, Code3, etc.... IDK Just would have thought someone else would have tried to build one for a c55. I mean since you cant get one from renntech with out ecu. I'd think c55 owners would jump on a new intake setup if it was priced right and looked cool. It would be nice to hear from some of sponsors and tuners on this. and to any of the sponsors plan on building part for the C55?

theres not very much room there for a cold air style intake. i gave up, and just bought the ones for an e55.

probably because of the low volume of C55's out there and how it might be hard to make a cross-model product.

most MB stock airboxes are pretty nice, just drop in a couple of nice filters and thats all you really need (not necessarily want but need) until you start running huge volumes of air then youre talkin doing thousands of dollars of upgrades before you find the need for a 80mm throttle body and a higher volume air intake.

Makes the most sense to me. The C55 model is very limited and the E55 intake seems to fill most of the void already.Originally Posted by DarkXerox

People want a product but many times can't justify the cost. Well vice versa for a tuner where we would love to make a application specific product but not to sell 10-20 units with a small profit margin.
because it's an NA and already an RAM air design. there isn't any significant gain from changing your intake. all you need are two good filters. The only thing the renntech airbox does is raise the top part of cover so that it gives more volume. The price doesn't justify the gain imo.
